The WTBTS does not say they have divine inspiration.
it has already been proven, unequivically, on this thread that they do indeed claim to have divine inspiration. perhaps you need to re-read the watchtower quotes without your wt colored glasses this time.The brothers were not predicting, but trying to understand Bible chronology and prophesy.
trying to understand bible chronology, and preaching your understanding to a whole group of people are two entirely different things yoyo. if they were merely "trying to understand"....then why did the masses of jws drastically change their lives in preparation for armageddon....repeatedly?. Now, here you are more than a hundred years (taking into account the 1881 date you through out) making these false accusations about those sincere, faithful brothers that were investigating the scriptures.
i have made no false accusations, these are all printed dates in watchtower material, PREACHED to the jw masses as FACT, not simply possible "understandings". if youd like to start a new thread where we list specific articles, we can do that.aa

personally, i would consider the watchtowers failed predictions regarding the end to be "many, many".....1881, 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1935, 1945, 1975.....i think youll see there are more than enough right there to count on two hands.....should i get into more predictions, outside of the end times? perhaps youd like me to bring up beth sarim and the numerous "misunderstandings" about the king of the north? shall i go on, or does this now constitute "many, many"??

i realize you wish to continue on this tangent, and im not trying to muddy the waters, but this statement by you raises more questions:
I explained how God's spirit and angels can direct us in the path of the truth. Angels could be said to lead us to discover Biblical truth
so when the watchtower gets it wrong, as in all the many many blunders, did the angels direct the watchtower in the wrong path? do the angels only direct the watchtower in the path of truth when they get it right? how do you know which words in the watchtower are from angelic direction, and therefore correct in "bibilcal truth", and which ones are completely false (1975, etc.)? do you just guess? or do you follow them all blindly, as most have, until corrected?aa

as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.
since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

its a very simple equation, and all your dismissing it as silliness doesnt take anything away from it. the watchtower claims to be inspired by angelic direction, therefore the words printed in the watchtower are supposedly inspired by angelic direction.

number one, alan isnt "supposing" anything is taking place, he provided you with wt quotes that specifically claim it is taking place. as far as providing you with wt statements that they are attributing to this special form of communication.......dont you get it? everything they print is supposedly coming from this special form of communication. the editor is jehovah, remember? to provide any one quote from a wt magazine is providing you with the answer to your request.aa
