  Gee Wiz Complains of Copyright instead of Content

  My dearest 'wiz' is beating a dead horse on this one. Wiz,you should have gone back and looked it up FIRST before commenting on what someone said.

  It's called 'fair use', 'wiz'. And now the Watchtower says there is 'no charge', so they don't even have that argument.

  There's no getting around it--the Watchtower said what they said. The contrast between Watchtower apocolyptic depictions and reality is absolutely sobering.

  Governments all over the world are now intervening to protect Jehovah's Witnesses from their own religion. Religions all over the world are opening up their hearts, homes, buildings and pocketbooks to take in Jehovah's Witnesses FLEEING FOR THEIR LIVES from this religion.

  Here in the United States, the US government has responded to these depictions of 'die die die' in a way the 'spirit-driven' Watchtower should have foreseen.

  ...No, not what the Watchtower predicted--the US turning on the Watchtower. Nothing so complicated. All the US government is having to do is to get out of the line of fire---and let the ex-jw's do the work themselves, by allowing former/present members to sue the Watchtower. Other countries are going to figure that out as well. Why should the governments be the bad guys and risk the bad publicity---when members and former members are standing by just waiting for a clear 'shot' (legally speaking).

  You gotta love that 'what goes around comes around' thang....

  tonight at the beginning of the "hannity & colmbs" program, the topic of the jw who is suing a doctor for administrating a blood transfusion against his will, was debated for about 30 seconds.

  both commentators agreed that this is a "tough subject," however each felt that "religious freedom must be protected.

  If I was the defense attorney or the trial judge, I would have to wonder: if it was really about leaving the whole thing in God's hands, then why submit to the surgical procedures in the first place? Why not let 'nature take its course"?

  I can't tell you how many JW's overeat or overdrink to the point of harming their bodies, to the point of needing medical intervention to save their lives becasue of their own overindulgence. Then they cry because they can't get their medical preferences catered to.

  And last but not least, if the Watchtower had allowed their people to go to school all those years ago, our society might be awash with JW doctors who WOULD be willing to cater to the JW's---they have no one to blame but themselves for these problems.

  So JW's in general don't get along with each other, they don't get along with themselves, they can't take care of their children, they don't get along with their neighbors--and God is going to give THEM a whole planet to do this on---

  I personally enjoyed the poster who commented that he was 'with the JW's on this one becasue the sanctity of the confessional" etc etc, when

  CONFESSION WAS NOT EVEN mentioned!!!!!

  Would this person still feel the same if HIS son or daughter were molested or even murdered by one of these shielded perpetrators? Would he still be 'with' the JW's on 'that' one?

  I like what JBean and others have to say. Study with the Witnesses to your heart's content. Ask the Witnesses these hard questions. I encourage all my neighbors to talk with the Witnesses, ask them questions, look closely at the literature that the Witnesses give them.

  Make a list of all their doctirnal flip-flops and ask to look them up in their library, becasue you want to see for yourself IN THE REAL LITERATURE.

  Many JW's have completely given up on 'converting' anyone to their religion. They bide their time and make do with 'putting in their hours'. Like YOUKNOW and FREDHALL and YADIRF--just putting in the hours, getting their posting numbers up, with no pretense of substance.

  Anyone studying with the JW's become a statistic no matter what. xxx books, xxx magazines, xxx hours, xxx attendance at the meeting, Memorial, and conventions--all of which end up in the yearbooks--from the beginning of association with the Watchtower one loses their humanity and becomes another number.

  People that leave--either walkaways, runaways, throwaways, or death--don't count for much by the Watchtower. Well, they count for something with US here on this board. The list of names of those who did not survive the Watchtower grows horrendously longer day by day.

  We will not forget.

  Right here and right now, I will tell you this is not true, with all due respect to the person who said this.

  Ted Bundy, executed for multiple murders, volunteered for a couple of years on a suicide hot line.

  John Wayne Gacey, executed for multiple murders (bodies found under his house)volunteered to entertain children for years.

  This is NOT NICE PEOPLE.

  Ask these JW NICE PEOPLE why, since 1965 at least, JW's have practiced the expulsion and shunning of rape victims. Ask them why they practice the expulsion and shunning of CHILDREN. Ask them why they practice the expulsion and shunning of battered wives and children. (As of at least 1998)

  If this poster meant that JW's present a 'pleasant disposition', I agree..they will present it for about 5 minutes untill you start asking hard questions like this. Then they do what YOUdon'tKNOW did...change the subject, resort to name-calling and try to discuss something else. Just like Satan their father.

  And while you're about it, ask why the number of partakers is RISING....(as of 2001) and also why do they have zero/negative growth in 75 countries...oh you won't be able to becasue they are going...going...gone.

  I'm guessing I have met 30 people at least from this board, and another couple of JW/xjw/non/jw boards.

  It's fabulous. I highly recommend it. I'm hoping to meet another few bunches in May, June, July and hopefully August/September of this year; and some more in the spring of 2003.

  'Crises of Conscience'by Ray Franz, former Governing Body member. (The top o' the heap) Yes, he was an ex-Witness at the time he WROTE/PUBLISHED the book; but 99% of its contents were assembled WHILE he was still a Witness. Public library may have it.

  'Gentile Times Revisited', by Carl Olaf Jonsson. Same scenario as Ray Franz; Carl was an ex-Witness at the time of the book's publishing, but 99% of its contents were assembled while he was still a Witness.

  'Visions of Glory' by Barbara Grizutti Harrison. She was a Witness, never disfellowshipped or officially disassociated. It is available online for free at www.freeminds.org.

  recommended online viewing:

  www.silentlambs.org run by a current Jehovah's Witness.
  www.ajwrb.org Witness or ex-witness, can't remember which.

  There are plenty more. But that should get you started. Give a yell when you are ready for more.

  2) you opened your email. There are thousands of registered users here, only a tiny fraction of them post. Create a hotmail account just for this, and when you have no use for it, delete it and change it back. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

  Yes, there are MANY Ohioans on this board.
