Can any Witness possibly anwser this question?

hello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".

many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.

newsflash!! WTBS CD-ROM 2001

yesterday an announcement was made at my local con.

and i thought i`d share it.. the watchtower announced that work on the new cd-rom is in progress and we can expect it at the end of this year.. unlike the other versions you can`t get away with win 3.1, you`ll now need at least win95.. available languages: the one already available + tjech and japanese.. some of it`s features:.

- one window (instead of several).

The cd officially has always only been available to members in good standing since day one. I'll get the citation when I have time.

Reason is, because of the Kingdom Ministries on them. Avalable only to members in good standing)

Also, only one per household.

I keep reading these posts where they're saying "oohhh I brought up the false prophecies, the UN, the generation" blah blah blah.

Given my druthers, if I had that one shot at a JW mind, I would bring up:

the rape resistance doctine, now approaching it's 40th anniversary.

Why are women not allowed to carry microphones, do the Bible reading even in the bookstudy? Why a 14-year-old boy rather than a 40 year-old woman, married with children, with years of education and experience and maybe even a pioneer?

why shun someone who has had a blood transfusion. Allowing that Religions have the right to expel members for snything under the sun, why demand shunning?

See, JW's have no scriptural support for this, and you are doing what Watchtower does not---evoking real emotions for real people.

The Bible teaches to run from, not listen to, not be afraid of, and even KILL false prophets. Good for you Jerome!!!

JW's can't use the excuse that they don't know about the '1914' fiasco. It's right in the 1993 Proclaimers of God's Kingdom book:

47: Barbour succeeded in convincing Russell that Christ's invisible presence had begun in 1874.

"the first to combine the idea of restitution with time-prophecy." It presented the view that Jesus Christ's invisible presence dated from the autumn of 1874.

While you're about it, tell them that the quality of people behind those doors is rapidly cahnging. Becasue JW's obviously don't even read their own literature (or lie about it) that is why they have zero or negative growth in 75 countries. It isn't 'cooling off of the greater number'...it's frustration at trying to have a conversation with these uninformed people.

But don't hold your breath at them coming back dear Jerome...they may just have fled for the hills.

But in case they do come back...can you tape it PLEASE!!!

Hebrews 1: 6:

NWT 1961: But when he again brings his First-born into the inhabited earth, he says: "And let all God's angels worship him."

NWT 1984: But when he again brings his firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: "And let all God's angels do obeisance to him.

The Watchtower cd-roms use the 1984 reference bible I believe.

The Scriptural cross references in the 1984 are:

(firstborn) John 1: 14; John 3: 18; Rom. 8: 29; Col. 1: 15.
(angels) De 32: 43 ftn LXX

Kingdom interlinear 1964: But when he again brings his First-born into the inhabited earth, he says: "And let all God's angels worship him."

Literal rendering: Whenever but again he should lead in the Firstborn (one) into the being inhabited (earth), he is saying And let do obeisance toward him all angels of God.

Without undertaking a big long research project I can't even BEGIN to have time for right now, Watchtower takes the same word (TTpoakuvnoat)and sometimes translates it as 'obeisance' and sometimes as 'worship'.

Interestingly, this scripture at Hebrews 6: 1 is the only scripture at first glance that was CHANGED from 'worship' to 'obeisance'. The other scriptures that sais 'worship' or 'obeisance' have stayed that way---at first glance.

Most of the other Bible translations I glanced through translate the word as 'worship' straight on through.
