Hambeak, Being from Texas, I would be surprised if you could think of something intelligent--emissions kill brain cells, did they tell you that when you took that job...

Don't be so paranoid Chiddy. I thought this was an open forum... Scared of the unknown? Open up that closet door---BOO! Don't worry I'm not one of the Elders or the WTS, I can't hurt you. I still haven't got anything other than a lot infinitile one liners to my original post on the subject. Maybe the New World Translation had more mind control over you than you thought. This subject was almost dead until I posted, aren't guys glad you've got something else to talk about other than how much you were wronged by the "DUBS"? The intelligence level has led me to believe that this sight must've been founded by Bush..Can't we all just get along...BOO!!! (LOL)

You shouldn't be as suspicious of a person that has converted and gave some thought into the beautiful tenants of a religion before converting, than someone who was just brought in a told what to believe. I'm not here to challenge the validity of any of the world's great religions, good and bad doctrines and people in all from atheism to buddhism and all in between. My reason was this, "it's beauty, the strength and courage of the true believers along with the fact that it just scares the hell out the small minded westerners that are afraid and baffled by anything that is different than what they know".(smile) Sort of like believing that someone is stupid because they can't read english, so let's mock it with one liners. Oh, and by the way, virgins really don't appeal to me that way, regardless to what you have been taught...

First of all I must say I am a US citizen born in Christianity and converted to Islam!! Other than some of the strange remarks to this post about clothing and culture I have found this; Islam and the countries that practice it have a far less violent recent history the last 100 years than the those who consider themselves christian, communist, jewish and or democratic. List the large wars and large stockpiles of massive destructive war machines and materials. Literally 1000's and 1000's of war ships, planes, and armies. List the Big wars and the main participants and suppliers and users of killing equipment (WWI, WWII, Viet Nam, Korea, etc) Most of the recent wars in the areas where Islam is dominant have been more or less localized, mainly because the only real so-called dangerous Islamic countries are still reliant on the Christian west to supply them with war making (affectionately called defensive by the manufacturers) materials from AR 15 rifles, fighter jets, cruise missles etc. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a US or western (so-called christian) leader coming out of church on Sunday afternoon and authorizing the dropping of bombs on Sunday evening. Islam has it's issues but the countries and people that practice it may have some terrorists and anarchists in their midst but their means to make war are limited. 1,000,000,000 muslims have done a lot less damage in this world than the few million US christians have.-- And we haven't even started talking about environmental and economic exploitation.---Just a counter view to put on the other side of the scale..

Need advice - marriage in crisis
by truthseeker ini've been a member of this forum for a while now.
i need some advice.
i can't say too much about myself because i'm still an active witness, though not by choice.. my marriage is in trouble and the one thing that causes it is being a member of jehovah's witnesses.. i was born and raised in the truth like so many others here.

As I stated last week I'm not a JW but my wife is trying to get back in. After reading many of the posts I think you need to resist as vehemently as possible. It looks to me like most of the time if you give in and go along and try and pussy foot around you still lose eventually. Moving to other places, and not standing up to the "Organization" in your own home just places one in the unenviable position of leading a "double life". I know children and family get in the way but if you are going to go along to get along you and the relationship will just end up as road kill by the KH-WTS Express, unrecognizable to the living world. What kind of mind control is this anyway? Count me out!!! "STOP CALLING THIS THE TRUTH". RESIST,RESIST, RESIST...

Disfellowship Removal
by easyshi ini am not a jw but my wife was raised as one.
we were married about 14 months ago and she wants to re-join the organization in a different location from the disfellowing location.
i believed she was kicked out 14 years ago for comitting adultery to get out of a bad marriage (her story).

Great Question, when I asked her about what was the driving force behind her going back she mentioned to me the most recent war in the middle east, and she missed the understanding the JW's provided. I'm really unsure of her reason. She has a brother that is a witness whom she talks with all the time and he comes to visit but has never once bought up the religion prior to this. Me and her brother play golf together and talk quite a bit, the JW's never came up until he was visiting last month and that was when you she bought it up to me. I don't think he was the initiator. There are two sisters also and another This is really strange and difficult for me to understand...

It would be real interesting if the Elders allow me to attend the "inquisition". I would even agree to being questioned myself, but I doubt it since they would not hold much sway over me when it comes to intimidation. My wife is even of the belief that the Elders have no choice but to let her back in. I find that hard to believe from what is being said by all on this post and the limited knowledge I have of the JW's.

Thanks again, but I feel that the consequences of the wrong choice on her part are so monumental, that the effects cannot be soft pedaled. I just hope that the process of re-instatement opens her eyes...

Thanks for the help and encouragement. I honestly believe that if she goes back in she will end up being unhappy in the long run. We have known each other for over 5 years and I'm sure we broke many JW rules in the process. I also consider myself a Muslim and carry an Islamic name (not practicing all doctrines and leading pretty much a secular life). She has the name and I'm sure if the Elders (internal Affairs Officers) do a thorough investigation they may have doubts about her ability to hold the line. In the mean time I plan to do my best to continue my following all of the things that we have done along the way, that includes holidays (house decorating), vacations, social drinking and partying, poker playing, and other forms of gaming etc. I'm not going to allow her to feel that there is going to be an easy transition, at the hall or at home. I really feel that this will break up the marriage if it goes her way, but she is going to be the one to have to make the choice.
