If They Stopped Shunning Tomorrow?
by cofty inimagine that the cult decided to stop shunning family members on the proviso that the dfd person was not actively trying to attack the cult.. (please don't debate whether or not this is likely - it's hypothetical).
how would you respond to your family?.
personally i think i would be less than cooperative.

I would demand payment from family and friends that shunned me to be held in trust by me,and me alone just in case the GB decides to reverse the non shunning rule. Then at least I would have something to remember them by. After procuring payment I would then have limited contact with them sort of like that distant relative that drops in on you once every few years. After all these years of being shunned there is too much damage that has been done to family relationships, I have moved on. I have real family and friends now. -

Simon everyone including brother Jeremy has the right to believe what they want. It would be fun though to go to that museum in Alberta just to observe and ask questions of the people who run it. -

Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

It was my understanding that this site welcomed both views, I was mistaken.
Introvert 2 . You can have both views if like but don't expect your views to go unchallenged. Nobody is disfellowshiping Bro Jeremy here. Not like the watchtower does. Go tell the elders about your posts on here and that you disagree with some of what the borg teaches and see what happens to you!

What is truth?
It's similar to a proof. One of our former prime ministers here in Canada, Jean Cretien was asked what a proof was? He said "A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof. And when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven." LOL

Brother Jeramy you said on another post that you are still an active witness. Do you still go in field service? And if you do aren't you afraid of indoctrinating others with certain aspects of the JW religion that you don't agree with? I ask respectively? -

I knew one personally she was a bit crazy and could hardly see. She used to read the publications with glasses on and the publications about two inches from her face. She had a drop dead gorgeous daughter who I was pressured to go on a date with (supervised of course). All the young brothers would have crawled bare naked through a mile of broken glass just to get her attention but I was really starting to think and I guess I was smart enough then to not get mixed up with her. -

Seems very easy to leave now, why do people hesitate?
by Xanthippe inwhen i see people on here saying they've looked on several sites before this one, jwfacts, jwstruggle, youtube, etc., and then they make friends here, sometimes meeting up with ex-jws, it seems incredibly easy compared to leaving in 1989. .
no internet, no amazon to find ex-jw books, no facebook to link up with ex-jw groups.
still people find it so hard to leave.

"It is easier to mentally awaken to TTATT then ever before. Before the internet, it was near impossible"
I agree Londo I reasoned my way out of the truth before the internet. It was tough my family shunned me I was a young man with no money and no job and not even a place to live. It was a very lonely and troubled time in my life!
Now days with the internet there is no excuse for not being aware of TATT leaving on the other hand is a different kettle of fish.

Organised Crime
by Dominic ini am not greatly familiar with the belief of jehovah's witness but am learning more through a school project.
.
what is the jehovah's witness view on organised crime?
-

The Jehovah's witnesses organization is organized crime. It profits off of slave labor pays no taxes and has a governing body that jets all over the world wining and dining themselves while many members can't afford to put food on the table. -

When I was young I used to get excited by discoveries like this. I just don't think the world cares anymore.
