it's hard to know where to put this link to a polish book some of you older members probably read, while our newer members are seeking answers to questions the watchtower vehemently deny's!

do i put this under "jw scandals" or "jw beliefs"?

for decades without the internet many of us did not have access to all the publications written by early watchtower writers because access was hard, only men like raymond franz jr(god rest his brave soul) had the golden key for entering the library of all publications jws made.. can some of the older members remember people who sold their homes and others who bought things in the summer or fall of 1974 knowing they won't be paying for their purchases because jehovah will destroy all the creditors records when he kills them!

remind you that the WTS also taught back then that it would take some more years after 1975 for the GT to strike for the reasons I have stated above.

Fisherman, if WTS taught that and that's a big if. It was not widely believed by the R&F at the time. I remember a sister at the time(1974) who was leaving for California saying that she would meet us on the other side after next year. She said that to a group of dubs in the kingdom hall with several elders listening in and I don't remember anyone correcting her at the time.

What a crazy time and a crazy cult to grow up in!

we don't know- but Jehovah willing we may be having our next district convention in Paradise next year ! " Crazy statements like those kinds of statements whipped up a frenzy of false anticipation within JW's at that time and made people even MORE excited to go out knocking on doors trying to allegedly " save people's lives ".

I remember crazy statements like this. I think the whole thing was heightened by the cold war at the time. The old King of the North thing.

The idea that the GB can blame the hysteria of the time on the R&F running ahead of Jehovah, is ridiculous.

The Duggar family hypocrisy

another christian child-abuse scandal in the news is the duggar family of "19 kids and counting" fame.. their show has been pulled after it emerged that the uber-christian family who are seen to promote right-wing christian values covered up abuse within their family and that of other victims by one of their family.

some values.

once again the only value that seems to really matter to the religious is appearance... good riddance to hypocritical zealots.. they have campaigned against lgbt as being threats to children and describing them as sexual predators all the while knowing that they have their own dirty secret.

I watched that show for the first time about two weeks ago.My wife who grew up Catholic said I was being mean judging their self righteous smiles and their interest in the scriptures and their family bible studies. I could just sense they had something to hide.

Maybe it's my built in BS detector.

I recoil in disgust too Frank every time I watch that video. It truly is disgusting. I know and the GB know as well how many children will see this video and give up their ice cream money. It's not enough they have to deprive the children of Christmas,birthday celebrations and normal childhoods but they take the money that these children would waste on a simple childhood pleasure of ice cream and no doubt use it to defend against the likes of Candace Conti. If their not evil I don't know who is.

Fresno man facing murder charge after shooting a Jehovah’s Witness who refused blood transfusion

a fresno man is facing murder charges in court this week for the shooting death of a jehovahs witness who later died after refusing a blood transfusion.. according to police, quevedo and silva argued over over gang membership with quevedo returning later in the evening to shoot silva through the security door at his home.. silva reportedly told a fresno police officer jehovah, jehovah, im dying, im dying, as he was taken to a hospital where he died during surgery after refusing a blood transfusion because he was a jehovahs witness.. it is the belief of many jehovahs witnesses that it is against gods will to have a blood transfusion.. according to defense attorney antonio alvarez, quevedo should not have been charged with murder because silva refused a transfusion that could have saved his life.. prosecutor gabriel brickey disagrees and will call fresno county pathologist michael chambliss to testify that, even if silva had received the transfusion, he would have died because one bullet hit a a major vein.. quevedo has already served time in prison for felony battery and theft and was on supervised release when he was arrested for shooting silva.. if convicted of murder he would face life in prison.. original story with suspect picture can be found here: fresno shooting.

This will be an interesting case to watch. Mainly because it's in California. I am sure he will be convicted of something. But of what? We'll have to see.

Did judge Rutherford piss off Hitler

the jws at the time in germany where considered part of the aryan race, (since they were not jews).

then things changed for the jws after rutherford mailed a letter to hitler bragging about jehovahs kingdom on earth.. so can we add this to the bloodshed that that the watchtower corp is responsible for?.
