What’s the deal with all the Smart-Educated JWs?

we talk a lot about most jws being uneducated, uninformed, and that they lack critical thinking skills, but in my area there is a lot of jws that went to the university, medical school, law school, and came back to the organization.

in my circuit, that i know of, we had two electrical engineers, one computer engineer with a ph.d. eight teachers with a bachelors degree and three of those with a masters in education.

we had two medical doctors, one was a pediatrician who closed his business about 3 years ago and went to bethel.

I have had dealings with born in and converts who were well educated and like a lot of people they fall victim to getting their ears tickled by faint praise from the rank and file, it's a bit of an ego thing that all humans are susceptible to I suspect. But as long as their perceptions are just theorized about in the abstract they are fine when it comes to Borg life. It's when things come out of the theoretical and enter vivid reality things shake them back to more rational thought like a life or death decision over the blood issue for example.

Just my opinion and it doesn't reflect any medical or psychological merit it's just what I have observed. That's why sometimes it's best to get an opinion from someone like Viviane, you don't have to worry about fuelling any narcissistic tendencies you might have with her observations. LOL.

even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.

I am just a deist,

I hold my standard of proof in a diety as a self proclaimed agnostic. Imagine how I would be as a strict atheist !

Like I said before my standard for divine proof is not that high and for some like deist's their standard is just being alive like bacteria that inhabit the sewer. Yep when you think about sewer sucking as life's passion you have time to reflect. Just like your initial observation. Huh?

Why thank you Prologos Sewer sucking was always a passion of mine in my younger years. Its amazing what occurs to your consciousness when when your rootin around looking for solutions to life's questions. Sometimes they just come flyin right at you and stick!

As for a belief in a god I am not hard to convince just give me the next winning numbers in advance for next few lotto draws and I'll crawl bare naked through a 1/2 mile of fully engorged sewer sucking hose publicly extolling his/her/it or their deity.

I had a very similar epiphany once while working as a teenager on a septic sewer pumping truck! Similar experience for sure.

the prime minister of england made the above statement yesterday regarding any schools that influence youths in a negative manner.. he went on to say that if youths are influenced in a negative manner regarding religious teachings that promote judgement of others (including same sex relationships, etc ) or that look down on other peoples free choice, the government would take action.. i cant find a newspaper article sorry...i just heard it on the radio news.... very interesting though...it may have a bearing on how those who learn ttatt are treated by the organization??

If you could only visit my JW relatives they would all give testimony that would probably pass polygraph analysis that every meeting with me was and is a demonic incident ! I take a certain satisfaction from such incidents even if the nuances of such meetings are imperceptible to most. LOL

No-See-ums bug bites, have you experienced these little pest?

the wife and i here lately have received little unknown bug bites, on our legs and arms.. so today in my senior class the instructor ask if anyone received any unknown bug bite.. there were 75% that raised there hand and everyone ask, what the hell is it.. these insects are ferocious biters.

they don't spread any diseases, but they will keep you indoors.. they are called valley blacks gnats, they feed on blood.

in my research i found they are active in.

You should try diesel fuel, rub that on they don't like that either used to use it for that purpose when I was a kid. Works great! But there are downsides to it though.
