The Irony of JW's on Halloween
by Simon inisn't it ironic - the one day of the year you can pretty much guarantee that most people are not only home but anticipating people people calling at their door ... and jehovah's witnesses don't go out that day.. heck, if the householder isn't receptive they even have the get-out option of claiming it was a joke and they dressed up as jehovah's witnesses for halloween!
:d. of course we know the aim of the ministry for most is to avoid talking to people.
that's why they do it during the day midweek or on sat morning or sun afternoon when people are most likely out..

I just had the welfare visit from a couple of young single mothers looking for Halloween candy. I look on the brighter side and the kids look smart. -

On respect for the belief of others. Sorry for the long post
by StarTrekAngel ini am inclined to start this thread in response to some comments made in other threads.
i have been coming around these forum for quite some time now so whatever you find in here is not just related to something someone may have said this week.
it can go months back as well.. i have seen many who claim to respect the belief of others but when it comes down to applying it into practice, things take a whole different tune.

Belief changes but evidence does not! Science evolves with understanding of new discoveries not new light. -

$ The root of evil? $
by BurnTheShips in" said francisco d'anconia.
"have you ever asked what is the root of money?
money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them.

The most evil thing you can do to a human or animal is to deprive them of food. I have more respect for the Salvation army warriors than I do for the WTBTS -

A person can call me an ignorant worthless asshole for not understanding a minute detail about general relativity perfectly, this is within the rights of that person. I am not calling for censorship in that conversation.
No one is an ignorant worthless asshole you can learn from anyone! How many people have died for free speech? Too many to number.

Attacking a person's belief is healthy. Free speech should never be condemned. -
