I only drive on the weekends. During the week I depend on public transporation. Buses, subways, I love them. It also gives me a chance to catch up on my reading, pay some bills, etc. Driving is great but I honestly don't know what I would do without public transporation.

have mercy...been waitin' on the bus all day...
by DanTheMan inmy car has been in the shoppe for the past 2 days, so i've been making my way around town by riding the city bus.
i actually like it quite a bit, and it is good on the conscience knowing that i am not contributing to global warming by using a 3000 pound carbon dioxide spewing vehicle to haul my 140 pound ass around town.
i am going to continue riding even after i get my car back.. anyways, i got on the bus yesterday, and lo and behold, the driver was a watchtowerist from my last congo.

Did the 1914 Generation Die Anyway?
by JanH indid the 1914 generation die anyway?
ver since the beginning of the watchtower movement, they have had some sort of deadline for god's activities.these activities could be the rapture of the saints (which jws today do not believe in), the destruction of "false religion", ie every other religious group, or the final end of this world.
earlier, these deadlines were explicit dates.

It is interesting to note that so-called apostates are much more successfull in predicting what the Watchtower Society will do, than the Society has ever been in predicting God's activities.
Truer words were never spoken.
Being free of the restraints of "watchtower thought" allows one to analyze and critique this religion intellectually and thus one is able to preceive the directions it is going in and to note where changes must be made in its questionable doctrine in order for it to remain viable.
Incredible essay!

Sick kids at the KH
by Sadie5 inthis always irked me, when little children were brought to the meetings and they were sick.
i remember one little girl would cough through an entire meeting.
they brought her like that for months, they said they didn't know what was wrong with her.

When we were sick on meeting nights, my mother used to say "You're not going to feel any better sitting at home." So, off we'd go to the Kingdom Hall, sick as dogs!

Lobby BBCAmerica To Air Panorama!!!
by AngryXJW inbbcamerica has a page where one can submit requests for specific programs:______.
http://www.bbcamerica.com/about/contactus_email.jsp.
i have no clue whether this is intended for "other programs" aired by "other bbc affiliates", but it would seem to be worth 5 minutes for everyone to take the time to fill out a request that "suffer the little chidren" be aired on bbcamerica.

Musky, that's a good question because my husband loved my hair. Unfortunately he passed away last year. I think he would have been pleased with what I did He was a very good man.

Thanks guys. You've made me feel so good about doing it.
Yes Celia, it now hangs just above my derriere. I can't sit on it as easily so maybe that's a good thing. It used to have a little curl on the ends and now its dead straight.
I'll try to get before and after pictures and put them up as soon as I can figure out how to do it.
Hey Lew, I wish you could have been there too.
