Minors and Liability?
by Jhoy1611 inresearch has shown that one getting bathtized is entering a contractual agreement to be bound by the organization rules and governance.
such rules would include but are not limited to shunning and being dis-fellowshipped.
so i ask the community is a person who was bathtized as a minor who is now an adult liable for or bound by the rules of the organization?

Angry, I knew you could not resist a thread about contracts and minors. These threads really get you all riled up but you should really be more understanding about it. After all, these people are not lawyers and they are just posing a question, throwing out a thought.

The Inherent Goodness Fallacy
by comforter inmost or all people are good.
actually, humans are basically evil.
the bible says that man be inclined toward what is bad from his youth up.

And I don't know hardly any jw who look forward to 99.9% of people being killed. Else why go out and preach from door to door trying to warn people of the oncoming destruction?
Comforter, when we went from door to door we knew that the majority of people would not listen. However, we were taught that it was our responsibility to go and find those few sheep like ones who would listen. Remember, narrow is the road........... If you calculate the population of the world against the number of active Jehovah's Witnesses ....... well, surely you get the picture.

An interesting conversation
by Salud ini want to share this experience i recently had with everyone here.
last weekend i spoke to my good friend who was a jw elder but has since stepped down, nonetheless still calls me on a regular basis despite my being df'd.
first he tells me that the dateline topic is hot.

They are also telling the publishers as they told him that all the Dateline personalities are disfellowshipped and are apostates.
Salud, if you remember, that statement was refuted by J.R. Brown himself, when he explained to Dateline that the reason he would not appear on camera was because the people in question still considered themselves Jehovahs Witnesses and that the media was not the place to settle difference between brothers. He even quoted scripture. So the argument that they were apotates does not hold water.

The 13th Sonnet, my favorite:
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
