  I can't believe this!!!!!!!

  i am so upset i don't know where to begin!

  i met this guy back in dec. at my job, during the first week i started.

  (i had a post in the past about my dating him, he's a jw) everything was going cool, except for the fact that: 1) he had a second job as a producer/dj and 2) he didn't have a car, he had to borrow his parents car.

  Why are people racist?

  something on the song thread that i posted, song by tu pac, got me to thinking about racisim.

  why do people discriminate against people that have different color skin?

  i understand it is a learned response, but my "elder" father is very racist... and this is how i was raised.. i don't get it.

  I believe that some people feel empowered when they can look down on a group of people, people whom they feel are not their

  intellectual and financial equals. Keeping a group of people down actually elevates their group.

  So no matter how poor and slovernly people from your group are, there is always that "other" group that, no matter how high they

  aspire to be, will not never be in the same class with you. Therefore, perpetuating racism serves as an ego boost and one that is easy

  to acquire and so will be slow to disappear.

  Where are the Feminine women?

  some months ago i took my annual vacation to the land of kangaroos--you know--where men are men and sheep are skittish?

  as a social commentator i have a vested interest observing cultural changes and trends, etc.

  in the professions and trades in oz the genders dress as androgynous as their counterparts in the us.

  It is a commonly held viewpoint in my community that many of our women tend to be loud-mouthed and *too* assertive.

  Teejay, women in your community didn't always have a choice.

  It was these very same women who saw their mothers and graqndmothers as the breadwinners. These women went to work every and then came home and managed the family because of the fact that their men could not find work.

  They were assertive because they had no choice, they were loud-mouthed because they learned that this was the ony way they could get their point across.

  These personality traits have been passed to this generation of women and we are all the bigger for understanding that.

  nothing helps a religion weasel out of the hot seat better than a good arsenal of "back door" words.

  the ultimate "back door" expression invented by the watchtower printing corporation is "wait on jehovah" and the purpose of this post is to examine that expression with a microscope.. this expression is always brought out and touted when things are totally screwed-up in watchtowerworld.

  "we have a major problem with covering up and enabling pedophiles and expelling the children who are raped by them.

  Hi Farkel,

  As a matter of fact the "wait on Jehovah" syndrome is what inspired them to disfellowship Bill Bowen. You see, in their illogic

  reasoning, Bill "ran ahead of Jehovah" and thus he qualified for expulsion from the organization. So the waiting on Jehovah teaching

  also warns those who are thinking about taking the initiative with regard to changes in the organization to consider it long and hard

  because obviously Jehovah does not appreciate those showing initiative, he prefers those who remain meek and humble and who,

  although seeing the need for reform, spend their time waiting on Jehovah to bring about such needed reform.
