Loss of family alone is a lifelong problem, not something you can just "get over".
True. But some need to think of it as a death and just as when there is a physical death in our family and after a while there is a time that comes along in which our life must be lived, so too the Watchtower's imposed death upon us must yield to life.
Let us live and not continue allowing the Watchtower to impose upon us their declaration of death.

it's pretty easy to hide a million or two a year in consulting, attorney, real estate brokerage, and other fees. Don't forget research and development consultants and licensing agreements.
Some of the attorneys currently employed by the Society use their own office letter heads. They don't seem to live or work directly for the Society.Garybuss,

If someone continually keeps sneaking up on you and kicking you in the nuts, is not liking them paranoia?
No, unless you keep standing in front of them knowing the next kick is on the way, or if you don't get the hell out of there when you can and move on with living your life!

The "truth" to a Witness is this: The Governing Body is "the" channel.
Absolutely! And the Witnesses obey that channel just as the military obeys Bush. Both do what they are taught to do.

I have loved ones in the religion. Butting them head on is not going to make them change. It only puts their defenses up. I have chosen to live my life and include them if they should wish to be included. If not that is their choice. There are thousands, millions, of families who are, for their own reasons, split. Most were never JWs.
There is a necessary time that should be spent in recuperating from the JWs but a true healing is a moving on. Moving on is not only good it is necessary to becoming a whole man or woman, imo. Happiness is moving on.

Russell on prayer to Jesus & WTS charter? refers to worship of Jesus

i believe that in one of the oldest watchtower issues someone asked ct russell whether praying to jesus was allowed and russell published his response to the effect that it was ok and russell said he sometimes prayed to jesus.
i'd just love it if someone could dig up the actual article for me as i want to show it to someone who doesn't believe me.

Blondie,
Russell is a non-entity in the JW religion. He is reduced to the few comments in the Proclaimers book which support the JW dogma. Young and active JWs have no interest in him other than his name in Watchtower history. No one cares what he wrote or what he believed. He is virtually just as relevant as Moses...old law.
