  JW's "Genius" Brainwashing Technique - DID YOU FEEL THIS WAY?

  i'm sure i'm not having some great big ephinany that no one else thought of, but to me this is sorta big to realize:.

  so many people in both congregations i attended as a witness were soooooo depressed, severely, traumatizingly depressed, i would say.

  they would all comfort each other and say that satan was attacking them personally and their depression was proof of it, and that this was the "best place this side of paradise" they could be.

  i can relate personally as well- yes SOOO many in the congregation i was raised in were very depressed, suffered for it, wallowed in it- very sad. My mother is also on anti-depressants, that happened right about when i left JW when i was 15. Funny thing tho that DRUGZ are OK but counseling is SOOOO NOT OK. GAWD it's so assbackwards....

  WTS/JW's are master's at spiritual abuse and manipulation and this is clearly what you have pointed out - good on ya ((((((GGBG))))))

  where the hell have i been?

  ummmmmmmm... i've been in love!.

  it's been so long i don't even know where to begin...... well... i guess it all began here at jwd... the beauty of it all, it that this is not a dating website, and the very fact that i was falling in love with a person whom i had no idea of her physical appearance... i was falling for her inner beauty and strenght to leave everything she knew to be happy, to live life.... i had finally met a person who understood me, and i could relate to her stories.... i had met my new best friend, but didn't know it yet... things progressed..... we emailed (which later led to unsolicited photos from her).... then exchanged phone numbers, etc..... then before i know it she had convinced me to purchace an airplaine ticket to meet her.

  MANY PBS STATIONS WON'T SHOW KNOCKING !

  even though knocking is scheduled for a national pbs broadcast on may .

  2007, as many as one-quarter of local pbs stations will not show .

  It IS hard for some of us to live a lie yes... i agree...

  many "apostates" just can't pull it off and prefer just being a 'good human'

  Another thought for your friend- how much easier is it to believe what you are spoonfed by WTS, compared to searching and finding your own spiritual path....

  just after i posted our latest ordeal with our jw neighbors, and their jw friends pulling down our frosty, egging our house and car, we got a knock on the door!

  What would you do in my situation?

  hi, im new here but have been looking at lots of web sites for exjw's and i can't seem to get any answer in what im looking for.. i have a bit of a delemia i am df and my dad (jw) is getting remarried to a jw in march and i am wanting to go but the thing is i haven't been to a kh for a very long time and where they are getting married is the one that i grew up in and for this not sure where i am to sit.

  do i have the right to sit in the front row or do i have to treat it like a normal meeting?.

  can anyone shed any light on this?.

  Sorry to hear of your uncomfortable situation. You must however stand up for yourself. There is NO other choice. Don't back down now or you WILL regret it. The other posters have great responses non-combative suggestions so i will not include any more. Good luck and be strong for yourself now and in the future.
