Independent Thinking
by Jeffro ini decided to do a search of the watchtower library cd on the phrase 'independent thinking'.
only three times is it ever spoken of as being a good thing.
and those three instances are quite telling about the insidiousness of all of the other times that jw publications consider independent thinking to be such a bad thing.. .

JW's are studying the "Revelation Climax" book for the 4th time. Why?
by booker-t inhow many times are they going to study that book.
i left the year that it was published 1988 so i never had a chance to study it at bookstudy.
but i do have a copy(my mom sent me a copy in 1989 hoping i would return to jw's) and i just can't believe they say the whole book of revelation was fulfilled by actions of the wt society and russell and rutherford.

Lady Lee said.."I went through that one twice while I was in.".......I think Charles Taze Russell went through it once too....when he heard they were going to study it again on halloween 1916...he lost the will to live

How I feel after 2 years blinder free (32 years with 'em)
by wanderlustguy ini cut this out of a letter i wrote to someone close to me, thought it might be good to post.. its hard to me to express myself verbally, thats no secret.
but why may be a bit of a mystery, maybe hell, we both know it is.
the only way i know to explain it is perhaps to refer to something else.

My Bethel Experience part 13
by new boy inmost of us went back to bethel, thinking we wanted to make it our life long career......what better place to be right before 1975?.............that dream ended for the vast majority after just few months there, when they found out that something was very wrong.
other wise why would anyone want to leave a spiritual paradice?....
with only 2-5% staying after there 4 year commitment, and a very big percentage leaving before there time was even up.

How's your recovery from the WTS coming along?
by Frannie Banannie ini came on this forum a few years ago, already hyped up from online xjw chat groups and the h2o forum and raring to kick some jdubya butt.
then i began to calm down and i began to reach out to the newbies coming to this forum, helping (hopefully) where i could.
after a while the subject of jdubya-ism began to sour on my brain and i began absenteeism from jwd at times, but i always come back.
