Thank you all. He must have been in great pain. We found out after the fact that he had a new identity on facebook that he was using for some game FAQ and on there he had been saying for a month that he was going to kill himself. The people he was friends with on there knew and did not find it important enough to try to contact his family. We are all heartbroken, but hopefully he has found the peace and joy.

Did you like the Society's calendars?
by JimmyPage ini always thought they were the most boring things i'd ever seen.
a picture of someone preaching in a different land every month.. i always ended up hanging something far more entertaining, like an nfl calendar..

No, I did not. If they had just used some attractive pictures, it would have been okay. But as WTWizard said, they had "guilt trips". Days for service marked. THe pictures themselves were manipulative, trying to guilt you to more service/meeting attendance/study. I hated them.

Emergency food, shelter and transportation Now being offered to desperate, endangered Bethelites.
by koolaid-man inthe current threating climate now existing in the watchtower organization is reaching extreme levels.
excessive, fanatical, uncompromising dictates are driving bethelites to the edge.
many are in despair actuated by a feeling of hopelessness.

New resolution passed at last service meeting? crazy!!
by finallyfree! inso my ex who has gone back to the wts and is being given the tough love and is questioning whether shes makin the right move.
she told me at the last service meeting that there was a resolution passed that stated that all leftover balances in the congregations accounts would be sent to the society to be used where the need is great, to help out with natural disasters etc and that the funds would be sent back to the congregation if they needed it.. has anyone else who is still in or knows active witnesses heard of this new resolution?
apparently its everywhere in canada as far as i was told .. .

Hey, Snakes - I think A..... has looked at this site, or something like it, from something one of my sisters said. And the reason she writes it down is because she noticed in an accounts report that less was sent to the World Wide Work than she had contributed to it the month before, so she knew someone dipped their hands into the till. Of course, she believes Jehovah will take care of all in his own time - delusional.

Did your wardrobe of clothes change when you left the JW'S
by Hairyhegoat inmine did and i have not put a suit on since escaping the cult.
the mrs has given all but 1 away to the charity shops and i have loads more room in me wardrobe now.
what items of clothing did you get rid of when you got out of the cult ?
-
mimimimi
I got rid of most of my dresses and suits, donated and gave away to people who could use them - just kept a couple of attractive ones for funerals and weddings. But I also started to buy more nice pant outfits and have worn those for weddings and funerals also. I spend most of my time in jeans any more and workout clothes. I may never buy another dress again as long as I live.

Syl,
I'm so sorry to hear you have this problem, but I am really glad it has been diagnosed and is being treated. The antibiotics will clear the helicobacter pylori up, but the probiotics afterwards would be a good idea. Hope you feel better soon.
