we did one year we heard that our co's wife was caught doing it with a special pioneer than was staying with them, co was taken off the circuit, and our po"s daughter was having a lesbian affair with her roomate, of course i knew before she dissasociated herself i told a sister i knew they were and she told me it was slanderous, then 2 weeks later it all came out, she then ran off with a dissfellowshipped lesbian over double her age, the other lesbian was publicly reproved but i have since heard shes been disfellowshipped for lesbianism, a question?
i thought if you were a po and one of your household was found to be doing something that bad then you had to stand down, is that right?
We had a CO and his wife who got involved in some telephone business and who were trying to get all the brothers and sisters they could involved with it also. The society found out about it and let them know that as a CO he was not to be doing any kind of work or job and gave him time to make a decision to give the business up. Well, he chose to keep the business and was removed as a CO. I remember one of the pioneers in the congregation saying that as soon as the CO and his wife would get into town, they would be calling up congregation members wanting to get them involved in this business. Also, there were complaints about how his wife was always trying to hit up more affluent congregation members for new suits for her husband.
just wondering, my jw husband attended a funeral at a catholic church with me, and i thought perhaps this was frowned upon?
have any of you former jw's ever gone to any service in a church before?
it totally shocked me that he went with me.. thanks-.
There is an elder in a congregation close by whose wife, a pioneer, told me that they attended a wedding in a church of one of her family members. She had told her husband that since they never went to the holiday things her family had, she was afraid her family would think that she and her husband did not care about them at all if they did not attend the wedding. There were no repercussions over it, but I am not sure who all knew.
My experience has not been the elders saying anything about it, but people within the congregation, usually less educated and more ignorant ones. I learned to not tell anyone anything about my life, and I really did not socialize with the people in the congregation. My husband and children were not witnesses and we had our own life.

I went to many Catholic funerals and weddings over the years for my husband's family members. I attended weddings and funerals of other faiths for people I was friends with. I learned early on to keep my business to myself and not discuss it with anyone in the congregation. I received all kinds of moronic advice from people who were not in my situation, as well as being judged for what I had done, until I learned that lesson. Worrying about other people's consciences is only a way to keep control over the R&F. They can worry about their own damn consciences.
anyone here know where to go for dirt biking?
i live about 15 minutes away from st. louis, missouri.

Jeepthing,
The time of the free meal is 5 to 7 today if you all want to partake. I was not sure on the time and checked with my husband this morning. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soda, and a dessert like Little Debbie's or something like that. My husband sprang it on me this morning that I needed a dessert for everyone this morning and I went to Sam's Club yesterday, so I still have to run buy something today. Hope to see you there.

It is motocross, but we do sponsor at least one, sometimes two harescrambles. Also, we began last year to have races for quads as well, again motocross. Harescramble is for quads and motorcycles.

Tomorrow is rider appreciation day at Splinter Creek Dirt Riders in Fosterburg, IL. Free meal between 6 to 8, I believe is the time. Bonfire and band tomorrow night. Phone number is 372-4355 to call for details and directions. Then on Sunday is the last race of this season, which is a points race, so we expect a really big turnout. You can find me and my future daughters-in-law manning the concession stand, while my sons man the grill and my husband (the president of the club) is out running things.

St. Joe State Park down by Farmington, Missouri, also called Flat River. Great place to camp and ride your dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, or dune buggies. Also, swimming beach where you can pull up on your vehicle, dismount and go swimming. Warm showers.
We did used to go to Springfield for the convention. I always loved it because my youngest son, though he rarely made a meeting any more, would go with me and we would have a great weekend together. We'd always go in the evenings to Knight's Action Park or White Oaks Mall. But several years ago, our circuit started going to convention in St. Charles, MO. It's not nearly as nice as the Prairie Capitol Convention Center. The seats are more narrow and the parking's a nightmare. I have heard a lot of complaints about the place. But I hear the place in Springfield will no longer rent to JW's because of issues with the food vendors.
