i`ve never yet been snubbed by a jw.

the reason is that i refuse point blank to speak to them unless they speak to me first.

so, if i`m visiting my jw mum and jw visitors arrive which they often do i just smile, raise one eyebrow slightly, and look `em straight in the eye!.

Moving to where the need is great

many jws sold their homes and moved across country to serve where the need was great.

in the last couple of years i have remembered several people who moved from western canada to quebec where we were told the need was great out west.

some sacrificed their families, friends to go it alone.

one of the women that studied with me did this. She was a lightning bolt of godly zeal. i remember a day when she went out in service even when she had premenstrual cramps so bad she was grimacing and fidgeting in the car. she was out every day, every damn day ...well she moved out to some carribean isle to help out because the door-to-door work didn't challenge and/or persecute her enough.

you know what happened?

she was reproved by the elders there for being 'too zealous'.

the same sort of 'you're a liar' response to doing an excellent job. unbelievable. you can't win for losing,and it just goes to show that if you actually live up to the example set in their publications that you will be a very unbalanced person.

she's moved back to the old congragation now, so i hear.

im in the process of trying to get my boyfriend to see sense, as however much i try i can see no sense in the jws teachings as "christian"..ive got little over a week before he's baptised, but im not giving up that easily, especially after reading the stories on here..he says he wants to rescue me from a burning house..i say i want to rescue him from the hang mans noose..anyway was discussing with him earlier and i know i read somewhere in the bible something along the lines that we should let no man teach us, and read no other material that has been changed, apart from the bible, as god will teach us all things..i just cant remember the exact wording or where in the bible i read it..does someone know where that was...im still looking lol!

i think one of the scriptures you are thinking of is in revelations 22:18

"if any man makes an addition to these things god will add to him the plagues that are written in these scrolls;"

An emaciated woman and child stare out at you tearfully with a building destroyed in the background, presumably by an earthquake.(a subtle reminder that we are getting more and more earthquakes no doubt, which is not even factual) Okay... i really don'y like someone trying to target an emotive response to feed me their doctrine. "do it for the starving children'. the people on the magazine are prolly muslim so Jehovah will kill them anyway, right?

(well little johnny, since this christian in his automobile is no better than anyone else, i'd say he'll serve time for involuntary man slaughter. There is no scripture about disfellowshipping someone for accidentally killing someone unless you go back to the old testament where someone could flee to the city of refuge but that has no bearing on our time...'course this has never stopped them from adding on principles to the bible...so why not?
