When I had my hysterotomy in 1998 my OB-GYN put me on Premarin and indicated it was not an option. I did not find out until a year later about Dr. John R. Lee MD. I read his book "What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Menopause". I immediately stopped taking the Premarin. . . . Fortunately, I never had problems with hot flashes - just an occasional "warm spell". I have been using natural Progesterone ever since. . . . There are many natural herbs that really can help - without the danger of cancer that you have with Premarin. . . . The website is www.johnrleemd.com. . . . Dr Lee died suddenly of a heart attack a few years ago but his books are still a valuable resource and he has associated doctors carrying on his work.

Menopause/Hormone Imbalance -- Need Girlfriend Advice!
by cruzanheart inhere's the situation: i'm 51 and had a hysterectomy a year ago.
i'm on premarin.
physically i feel fine but mentally i'm kind of foggy-headed, over-emotional sometimes and detached at others, and, um, not entirely reasonable a good bit of the time.

Notice that you just can't sue your "brother". You can sue your employers for all kinds of crazy things as noted in that earlier thread that listed all the JW law suits. Guess if you work for a "brother" you can't sue that employer.

Maybe this is another reason they are selling off the buildings on the waterfront in Brooklyn and moving inland to Patterson. Perhaps the GB has been advised from the powers above that when the ice caps melt Brooklyn will be under water. (LOL)

(using capital g out of respect) i can't separate love of god and my jw life.
i pioneered for 10+ years, and thank goodness for that, because i can now easily memorize anything and read upside down.

2 Elders Tell My Mom That She Should Take Me Off Her Health Care Assistance
by minimus inmy elderly mom had 2 visits from the elders.
she requested hospital liason help because she frequently has been having to go to the hospital, her blood count is low and doctors have told her that because she's a witness, there are certain procedures that make it difficult to attend to her without blood.
when the elders visited her , they recommended that because i "could" decide to give her blood, that i should not be the first person called with rights to give her life saving treatments.

minimus . . . Health issues aside, Take to heart what everyone is saying about the WTS talking your mother into leaving everything to them. It happened in my family and they got everything. The elders took a will to a senile relative in a hospital/nursing home and got him to sign it. The family did not dispute the illegal Will. When the relative died, the remaining very elderly siblings agreed to let the WTS have it. One of the siblings was by then very ill & senile himself. The siblings had him taken to the attorney's office to sign away his portion of the inheritance he would have received had the illegal Will been disputed. His family desperately needed the money. No one had the nerve to speak up although several were very angry.

I was always so shy and really hated bothering people in their homes. At one assembly I had met a young fellow who asked me to go in FS with him and his mother. My parents let me go since we were going with his mother. Guess I was about 15 and he was old enough to drive. Well - - - we ended up back in the car waiting for his mother to get back from a house and he started trying to feel my boobies!!! Boy, was I shocked - but was flattered he was interested so I never told on him.

What Does YOUR Town Do?
by Sunspot inmy hubby, our grandson, our son, and me.... took a trip down to syracuse to see the "lights on the lake" display.
it is two miles of road through a park along onondaga lake, and it is crammed with all kinds of lighted exhibits with every imaginable christmas creature and every possible theme (and then some) included!
there were even menorahs and displays for hannukkah!

I hear the Phoenix Zoo is all decorated. I will check it out. ... In Georgia, Callaway Gardens near Columbus has a beautiful drive thru display. It is several miles long. You need reservations and can either drive yourself or ride in an open air trolley. It is really worth the effort if you are in the area. ... In Houston there is an old neighborhood just North of downtown (I forgot the name) that is really fun. It is full of the old original houses that are all decorated. Some homeowners have hot cider and cocoa for the visitors. Some have some entertainment on their porches (singers). Visitors park and walk up and down the streets. Very warming experience.

A little update.......
by megsmomma ini had posted an e-mail with my step-dad and i going back and forth over me ranting about the jw's and him saying i just want to blame everyone for my life.. my husband met with him sunday for lunch...to basically tell him why i was critical of the society and that i am a happy person...i just do have some issues because of the religion i was raised in.. it is important to note that he has never been baptised(and has been "in" it for 20 yrs), but thinks they are the true religion.. so, he was very humble with my hubby and said he would like to talk things out with me.
he admitted he was not right in the way he treated me growing up, and he should not have said the things he did in the e-mail.. so, we met today and i explained how the jw's treating me so nice as a kid, and showing me approval when i conformed ment a-lot to me...and i didn't know how to look at things critically...i just totally believed.
we went on to talk about him praying and how i just recently felt like i could pray since i was taught jehovah only listens to baptised jw's prayes.

That is intense. I wonder what your Dad will think when he sees he "is not in position to offer prayers acceptable to God." That should make him sit back and take notice. I hope this will open up for more dialog for you guys.
