The Two Faces of a JW
by Nosferatu init always amazed me how jws can have almost two different personalities.
it's not quite like having a double life, but it's the hypocricy of jws themselves.. i remember going to those meetings and seeing everyone with their plastic smiles, as if they were the greatest people in the world.
but you lift the curtain of their home lives, and their true personalities come out.. my mother was an entirely different person at the meetings.

I had a roomie who was full-time pioneer (I was just the reg publisher who worked full time {gasp}!) One night I went to bed early and I woke up to voices in the living room...male voices. I got dressed and go out to see what is going on and mz spiritual has 6 worldly guys parked in our living room and they are drinking. Now I am sure it was all perfectly innocent--perhaps a bible study ? Then there were all the phone calls from men who met her at the restaurant she worked. My particular favorite would be the sexy lingerie she ordered from a porn shop to keep her "cool" in the heat of summer while she went out in service. Did I mention she did drugs or that one weekend while we were away she let her brother have a party at our house without my knowledge? I had fun cleaning up all the liquor bottles, cigarette butts, and listening to the neighbors describe calling the police.
The elders reaction? They said I needed to talk to her and really, without proof, they could do nothing. She in turn went to them and told them I was doing those things--guess who got counseled? Guess who they believed?

I thought, you made the choice, I didn't. I just could not bring myself to make a scene. It still makes me sad. Any thoughts on getting to the point where it does not hurt & I truly don't care?

Ambien...Can anyone help?????
by mama1119 ini have a close family member who has been taking ambien for quite some time now, and is trying to get off of it.
this person is having a tough time, not to mention they cannot sleep at all.
does anyone have any tips on how to get and stay off, and what to do for sleep in the meantime???

I was on Ambien for close to two years...I had memory loss, but I got sleep. I finally weaned off and switched to Lunesta for a brief period. When I finally got df'd I was able to get sleep without any help at all. I find Ambien very scary, Lunesta was not as powerful, but it did help me without any side effects whatsoever.

Personality of "Anointed" JWs
by Smiles indid you notice any similarities in the personalities of "anointed" jws?.
did they use their anointed status for personal advantage?.
were they the most loving person you ever met?.

The congregation I grew up in had about 5 or 6 anointed. The chief freakazoid thought he was slightly lower than Jehovah and we attended the Congregation of "Norm". He had a penchant for puke green and that was the only color scheme allowed. It took years to get curtains put on the windows because he thought they were the handmaiden of the devil or some such craziness. He never had curtains on his windows at home. This psycho was so important that he never never never walked in to the hall with his wife. One day she fell in the parking lot and could not get up. Fortunately, I came along very shortly after her fall and I helped her into the hall. She was also of the anointed, but one of the sweetest people I have ever known. I enjoyed telling the chief freakazoid off many many years later when my pedophile elder non-father figure was finally df'd for pedophilia (just 20 years and countless victims too late). I walked up to Norm and reminded him of the jc I was forced to submit to at age 10 where I was accused of lying about the abuse and how justice was now being served in some capacity with the df'ing of that lying sack of crap. Norm never spoke to me again (thank goodness). On a side note--don't you love an organization that will reinstate a molester after 1 year and then you have the poor people who are bipolar that get df'd for years because they go off on uncontrolled sexual binges with consenting Adults. And then they try to commit suicide from the anguish they feel--have two friends who are going through that. Yeah, that makes sense. Sorry for getting OT--that is a pet peeve of mine.
Another anointed sister in the hall would sit out on her porch looking for the UFO's that came down to visit her. Really! I think that must be why she never showered--to hold the aliens at bay. Since I was single, I was volunteered to pick her up for the meetings...nothing like riding in a car in the dead of winter with your window wide open so you can breathe.
So you decide--are they normal?
