Why JW's Rave So Much About Conventions
by freemindfade in"it was so beautiful, we are truly blessed!
now, they also plaster these affirmations all over social media, "this is the best life", “so blessed”, “best convention”.. why the gushing?
have you ever heard anyone say, “mmmm it was ok”?

When I was in, it always bothered me that I couldn't remember much about the "spiritual" food we received and I frankly never once went back over the useless notes I took (snooze fest!). I could tell you in detail what my friends wore, what we talked about, etc. I felt like I must not be spiritual enough and would beat myself up over that feeling, but I would definitely parrot the overused line "best convention ever."
So glad I am not shackled to that silliness anymore.

Wt encouraging people to completely forgive but they dont
by poopie inbut they don't forgive because they still shun people.
who they feel are not worthy of forgivenes.

Even if someone has actually done something "wrong" and is very remorseful, has stopped the wrong, made amends, that person can still be dfd--where is the forgiveness in that situation--simply to keep the congregation clean (barf) and to discipline (double barf). Feel the love of the most lovingest organization in the world... -

The reward of being a nice guy!
by StephaneLaliberte intoday, an old jw friend came to visit a member of my family who is still active.
i saw them leave together to run errands.
when they left, she didn't say hi and barely looked at me.. after taking care of my cores around the house, i noticed that the sister had forgot to turn off the head lights of her car.

Great story! So nice when we are able to show former friends that we are still human, still have good hearts. -

Audio link to talk I gave in 2001-"BROOKLYN GIRL." In it I discuss my conversation with Don Adams, Pres. of WTB&TS of PA, about a child
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://watchtowerdocuments.org/brooklyn-girl/.
in may of 2001, i attended a small conference in soap lake, washington, where some thirty former jehovah’s witnesses (jws) were gathered.
the conference was sponsored by the late richard rawe.

I remember being counseled at the meeting the week Barbara's Dateline appearance was shown to avoid watching it. My comment was, if these are lies, then watching this should not rock our faith and if what she said was truthful, then it needed to be brought to light and fixed. *Sigh* I was an abuse victim and it still took years to break free even after that revelation. Nothing like blind faith, ignorance and promised panda-petting-shiny future welcoming your dead loved ones back to keep you captive to such crap. -

Trey Bundy: One Year of Reporting JW Child Abuse - Your comments please!
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://watchtowerdocuments.org/trey-bundy-one-year-of-reporting-jw-child-abuse/.
trey bundy: one year of reporting jw child abuse.
it’s been one year since trey bundy first reported the watchtower’s child abuse problems.. twelve months ago the center for investigative reporting (cir) began publishing information about jehovah’s witnesses and their cover-up of child sexual abuse on their website, reveal.

Keep up the good work! It is refreshing to see light shed on this long-held dirty secret of the Watchtower. Thank you for exposing how little they care for the victims of child abuse. -

Welcome Barely There. Many of us have been in similar situations. There is life--a good life--to be had on the outside whether it includes JW family and friends or not.
Make some new friends. Get some counseling. Exercise to get the endorphins flowing. Find or revisit a hobby you love. Pamper yourself without the guilt. Do a little research on healing (Healing Handbook might be a good place to start). Come here to vent or find solace. You are not alone and that should be your mantra.

Is this a BEAUTIFUL STORY--or what?
by Terry inis this a beautiful story, or what?.
act one________.
now in an ordinary romance of the golden hollywood era, the boy goes off to war while the young lady waits nervously for his safe return.in a cary grant, debra kerr movie, the two vow to meet after a certain period of time and tragic circumstances intervene.. in my story, the young man is a conscientious objector who goes to prison instead of off to the vietnam war.

A question
by JeffT inhas anybody ever written bethel and just flat out asked for an accounting report on the society's finances?
we all keep batting around speculation about the wtbs and money, and actual information seems non-existent.
what would they do if somebody asked for a financial statement?
