i agree we all have different thresholds to pain and different types of pain. Hopefully as you say, there will be new pain relief therapies and medications (its marvellous though what we do have).

has anyone else here left the borg and had it go over like a lead ballon, ruining their marriage?

mine is quickly heading that way.

Definitely. Remember, you are dealing with a highly manipulative organisation that plays dirty if and when it needs to in order to hang on to its members. I have taken 'precautions' because my priority has been to get my loved ones out. I love my husband but as far as I'm concerned he is not in control of his own thinking - the org is.

What's your favourite food style?

i've been really into indian lately myself, but went to a decent jamacian restaurant the other day.. the reason i'm asking is because my wife and i decided that once a week we're going to try making something totally different together, kind of a way to spend time together and at the same time eating awesome food (if it turns out) other then going to a restaurant.

i'm kind of looking for different ideas of what to make.. kwin.

I love Greek food - lots lof lemon, mint and garlic to marinate.

Morroccan too - cumin, apricots and nuts with couscous - delicious.

Want to share an example of chronic pain from real life

An individual I know who suffers from chronic pain - that only responds partially to the strongest painkillers - is able to endure the pain as a background thing when in a relaxed state. This person when experiencing 'natural' peace and equanimity is able to rise above the pain.

She is forced to do this because she is now unable to take painkillers as they cause abodominal pain and nausea.

Don't know if the above is relevant to the discussion.

many remarks seem to in indicate they have no redeeming believes......................i can't agree.. i appreciate lots a things about the way i was raised.. 1. pacifism, nonviolence.

sad even though i was a pacifist, my god jehovah was an angry pissed off god who one day wants to kill most everyone...............guess he (her) needs to practice what he (her) preaches.........anyway i'm so happy that they taught me something even their god is having a hard time with!.

2.and most important......................................well i can't remember right now......but when it comes to me, i'll let you know.. newboy.

Hambeaks Extremely Heartbreaking News

our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.

the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.

he was in a car accident.
