  i think most of you already know what i have been planning.

  i have mentioned it somewhat already.

  i have sent bits of pieces of my story to several christian ministries, and they want to know more.

  Before this thread closes Junctionguy I just wanna say something that occurred to me today

  WTS teachings do a lot of damage to a persons ability to experience and express intimacy. Also you have both said about liking your own company to an extent. And junctionguy you have been wondering if you are gay. Being gay or hetero imo has to do with intimacy, both emotional and physical - so maybe that's an area to explore together or separately with a counsellor who specialises in that field.

  Its something to look into even if you decide to separate because the wts consumes that aspect of a person's emotional makeup for itself

  I'm saying all this beause you both imo seem have such a solid basis for an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship

  this is mostly for lurkers, those who still may be hodling onto the idea that there is truth in this date.

  probably one of the most talked about wt doctrines is that of 1914 and the 'gentile times'.

  Randy thanks for sharing this tragic but educational experience

  It has been observed by many writers and scholars that the religion of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is one of those intense Christian sects that people tend to use to cover up deep scars and wounds of the past. I firmly believe that if these deep scars and wounds are not faced and dealt with directly, they will show themselves in the end anyway. And that is the real truth.

  Your opinion on my really important question, please.

  does a jw upbringing simply confuse a child or is it really damaging?.

  i have no doubt that a jw child is, at least, confused with life.

  in my own case my wife brings up my 2 children (aged 5 & 2) as jw`s.

  Also children are taught to feel implicated in/responsible for their parents salvation. If a child is disobendient or 'bad' then the parents will be accountable to Jehovah and very likely to be destroyed at armageddon. A lot of pressure on children!

  It is not that my life is tough right now, I just don't know what I want. I have had to depend on Dave for so much in the past, And he would always that I couldn't do something without him. I am a stubborn, hardheaded woman who thinks she can do it all. And maybe Dave is right but I am not ready to give up yet. My bills are still getting paid on my own for right now. And I have some extra money left over.

  You sound a lot like what I'm trying to do too. I definitely understand the need for space and trust for now.

  The paranoia amongst some of the JWs re any hint of being gay/lesbian is just so pathetically extreme.

  2 sisters sharing a flat, if they were seen to arrive at the meetings/ministry together and then sat tog at the meetings would be whispered about - this happened to 2 separate pairs of sisters who were sharing accommodation, and to 2 brothers who were sharing a flat.

  A rumour would start and then there'd be sniggers.
