Does anyone know the Caldwell's in Australia?

especially if you were on the wrong side of them.

i know of a few that i heard but am wanting to more of what they are like.

The dear old lady and the good news.

hi freeedom fighters and free thinkers.. many moons ago when i was held captive i knocked on an old ladies door,she was hard of hearing.. i read the relevant passages to her from the bible ,told her that it is obvious we are living in the last.

days [this was over forty years ago] and it was obvious she was confused ,i started to speak louder.

and shouted" what do you think of all the trouble in the world?

Someone to be Accouintable To

growing up w a very demanding/strict/abusive father, and w the wt religion and the yhwh god, i always felt that i was accountable to those authority figures, 24/7.

in my teen yrs, i had to leave home, so my accountabiblity to my father diminished.

he was dffed a bit later on.

Other than obeying the laws here in canada, i realised that i am accountable to noone.

remember talking to a witness just before I stopped going to meetings last year. We were talking about how many teenagers leave the organisation. She was saying they have to learn about respect for authority - and that's what the organisation teaches, no body else does. She said there would be anarchy without it.

Its only now that I realise that we do have and learn to respect legitimate authority - in the form of the laws of the land. that's all that's necessary.

We don't need to superimpose more rules and regulations upon existing ones - we are free. Couldn't see that as a witness.

has any jw said anything to you about the eunice spry evil jehovah's witness foster mother case?.

are you in a congregation still and heard anything said by the rank and file jws?.

i visited my jw parents yesterday.

when one is in the situation its nigh on impossible to be rational - as when you are witnessing abuse and are related to the abuser. Glad you and your sibling are getting help.

However nowadays people are more enlightened about these issues and more family members are reporting. Hopefully it can only get better with more light being thrown on it

Organisations on the other hand are culpable.

Also JW teachings make a bad situation much worse because their teachings and way of going about it is abusive in itself. On top of that they discourage seeking outside professional help and encourage secretiveness.

In the article it mentioned that the foster mother has a biological daughter who is now 25 - this 25 year old had actually in the past thought about reporting her mother but had changed her mind. Wonder if she too is a witness? The article doesn't say.

If she is a witness then deciding not to report would just be typical.

Hi Gill

A witness and I were in a waiting area today and I picked up the guardian newspaper. I said to the witness 'what a cruel woman'. He was immediately interested, I read bits out to him. As soon I got to the bit that says she is a witness, he turned away and didn't want to know anymore.

I shut up - the point was already made - she is discribed as a pillar of of her religious community in the paper.

Your Opinion Wanted-What should really be done to child molesters?

i have not tried to hide my past as a victim of this, but this is always an area that i have to fight my personally feelings as to what should be done to child molesters.

they ruin lives, scar an individual for a lifetime!.

should they be incarcerated for life, castrated, turned over to the family member(s), public humiliation like a branding everywhere they go, tortured and or death penality?.

Yes, I was naive AND stupid. I honestly thought I was so flawed that I was the only one he would do that to

frannie, I think that when you are being abused and life goes on as normal around you, in your child's mind, its inevitable that you are going to blame yourself and feel like the guilty party - everything around you is fine and 'normal' only you know that you arn't - so it must be your fault. I can see why it would be unimaginable to consider that it could happen to anyone else.

Now that society is looking at the subject in such minute detail means that eventually we will do what is needed, and we'll do it together, which is how it should be.
