i just could not believe it when i stumbled across this forum recently.
i was actually doing research for my dad who wanted to see the world's viewpoint of the failed 1975 prophecy.
he came into the truth less than three years ago and though my mom has been a witness since she was a teenager she never spoke of that particular time period to him.

INHMO the wts runs on fostering a sense of feeling bad for saying no and letting people down as it were. That's what it comes down to in the nitty gritty of everyday living as I am finding out.
Just hang in there with your fade, feel annoyed but keep progressing - let your example be a lesson to those caught up in the same web.

we hadn't been close in a number of years, due to me becoming inactive, but i remember alot of the good times too.
she was older than me and offered to study with me when i was 14, which led to my getting baptized.. i remember that she tried for several years to get pregnant, and how happy she was when she finally conceived.

Yes, I'll be at the funeral and I have every intention of speaking to her kid who's DF'd. And no one there better say anything to me about that either.
I went to a JW funeral recently - a small part of the family had been disfellowshipped. The majority were witnesses. No one spoke the d'fd ones. they formed a lonely little island of grief by themselves. Very sad.

I like it because it is helping me to make up for lost time in catching up with the rest of humanity.
I'm really glad the one's who've gone before have stuck around to help us out of our dark tunnel and the new ones are here to make the journey with us.
I know that I definitley would not have had the nerve to do it on my own.

I found your recording very instructive. I' m fading and the thing that i find with my husband (he's a very company man elder) is that point - God's holy organisation, the faithful and discreet slave and our unswerving loyalty to it. Pouring onself out in total sacrifice to further their cause - its barbaric
We need reminders like yours because for us faders the judicial committe hearing is an ever present danger.
