How much more can a person take?
by juni ini'm in a very low mood today.. i read about all of the misery that this f* religion has caused for people and their families.

synergy, have you thought of giving your story to maybe a newspaper or magazine to print because you explained everything very clearly with all the refrences reasons why jws do what they do. People in general are often in dark about what actually goes on at the kh.
thanks again for your brave and courageous story.

((((((Synergy))))))
thanks for sharing your very sad story
I really feel for you as little girl having to experience all that demented brutality and abuse from adults around you and from the borg.
Even when I had my daughter I had to forbid my father from holding her in the Kingdom Hall or he would beat her. At three months old, an infant, she began to cry. I was sitting next to him at the Hall in the middle of a Sunday Watchtower study. He reached down to her carrier she lay in (I thought he was going to act like a Papa and maybe pick her up to hold her) he grabbed her tiny hand and gave it three hard smacks. She cried harder. Think of that!
The above happens all too often at kh's around the world. Wish there was some way we could stop it immediately.
love

Losing the faith-but using the bible?
by JWdaughter ini find myself still arguing for the bible pov vs. the wt pov at times when i really don't believe the bible is inspired of god.
a whole new layer of potential evil on my part, i guess.
however i just think that academically, if they are claiming their stance as being from the bible, that it is fair to show them where it is not biblical.

I agree with you JWdaughter and do the same.
Find that there is a lot of inspirational/enlightening stuff in the bible especially in what Jesus said.

My Bethel Experience Part 9
by new boy inthe the worst thing, someone could call you at bethel, was a "jack".............. as in " that guy is a real jack, he doesn't work at all".
the other term not used very much anymore, was "pot licker" used basically the same way.there has been some bad things done at bethel.
you name it, someone has done it...........but the absolute worst possible thing, a bethelite could do is be a theft!

Phone rings in 5th floor bindrey.................new boy picks it up and says "This is Jack's mule barn......which Jack ASS do you want?".............on the other end "DO YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS?" new boy "NO"...................other end "WELL ..THIS IS MAX LARSON FACTORY OVERSEER!"...... new boy..........................."Do you know this is?".........Max Larson says "NO" new boy says "GOOD" and hangs up...............True Story.
nearly choked on my tea laughing - can just imagine your face when you got caught out
A youngster I know who went to bethel could do a very authentic foreign accent to get himself out of trouble and wind people up

When Christians experience the "power of the Christ" ...
by ithinkisee inis this a feeling unique to christians?.
because i felt tremendously at peace when i came to terms with the facts about (what i feel is) the lack of authenticity of the bible and it's status as an inspired book - almost as if the universe was telling me, "just let go.
things are out of your control.

I must admit that not too long ago I had all the atheists down as unspiritual materialists. Talkabout prejudice. How wrong I was.
I've come to the conclusion, as you have, that sprirituality/enlightment doesn't need religion to mature/express itself. In fact I'm coming to see that religion actually works against spirituality and inspiration because it tries to put that sort of thing in a box with a label.
however I do believe we are all part of the same whole/Divine/Source.
thanks for your very thoughtful post.

How were you saved from christianity and belief
by Satanus inpost you testimony.
this is sort of a tongue in cheek juxtaposition to christians' being saved from whatever to whatever.
so anyways, on to my subject, how were you brought to atheism/nonbelief?

I'm making friends with uncertainty. Feel more grown up and responsible for myself.

Cold shoulder
by Billzfan23 inthis really blows chunks... the wife is giving me the complete cold shoulder because i have not been regular at meetings and because i have not been having the family study.
i am coaching my son's basketball team, and in the wife's eyes i have done a 180 degree turn to being completely "worldly".
she doesn't talk to me, and is completely distant.

Its snowing in BRITAIN..........disaster !!!!!!!!
by vitty inwell the uk got 3 inches of snow last night and the country came to a standstill.
schools all round birmingham closed, luton airport closed, people were advised not to take unnecessary journeys whew........................ive lived in a country where it snowed a foot in one night and then continued for days and days and then it stayed for 4 months.
the schools would never shut and the trains and buses (yep the same ones as the uk) kept running, oh and so do the airports !
