After my son died I had a dream each night for about 6 months where everyone I knew died. Not all at once but each night there was a dream where a different friend or family member died. That was a 6 month hell!!

Watchtower as a United Nations NGO - new article
by jwfacts inthere are a number of great articles on the un association, and it has been covered here extensively, but i notice newbies asking about the watchtower/un association and so have posted a comprehensive article at http://jwfacts.com/index_files/un.htm.
particularly interesting is the 1991 application form, as it shows that in 1991 the watchtower agreed to lodging annual reports in order to keep their status.

Should I wait to be questioned by the elders? or take my leave in advance?
by Thinking of Leaving inhi everyone, i recently joined this forum as i'm close to being df.
i am suppose to meet with a judical committee soon but was thinking that i don't want to go through those personal questions that i'm sure the elders would ask.
does anyone know, is it better to just tell the elders before, say like on the phone, that i want to be df and not go through the committee?

As one who has had to endure these JC meetins twice in my life I'd say IF you do go, it would only be to have some fun with them. I'd not preach because you would do better trying to convince us that the "truth" is the truth then trying to preach to them. You mentioned that they have been nice to you. They will be. Most JW's are good people and are nice most of the time. But when that door closes it will be a different story. You will have 3 brothers. One you more than likely will not know real well so he won't say much. There will be one who is close to you and you have a good relationship with and you will have one that is a real ass-hat. During the questioning, the one who you don't know real well will just look like a deer in headlights, the one you know well will treat you like a human being but will ask you all the questions like, "did you like it, how many times did you do it, what positions did you try, can we PLEASE see the video" and the like. Brother ass-hat will use scriptures to show you how bad you are and that you are deserving of death.
Like I said, if you go, make it worth it. Have fun with them.

You folks bring up many good points, thank you very much that's exactly why I posted it.
My greatest fear (maybe not fear but that's the only word I could think of) is that after fading I will end up in the same boat, shunned because I'm innactive. I know how my wife will treat me if I never come back and that's fine. There is really only one friend that I want back. When I went to my first ASSembly he actually talked to me a little and treated my like a human being. Maybe I'll have a little talk with him. Try to find out how he'll view me if I were DF'd for ever or how he'd view me if I were innactive. Man, I just don't know what to do.

That's very touching. After reading that I'm rethinking my life. I'm going to stop on the way home and buy a freaking DVD player and the biggest damn TV I can find!!

Jeremiah asked: "Just curious,....how much of your letter do you actually believe?"
Here's the parts of the letter that I believe.
"Dear Holier-Than-Thou Brothers,"
"I am writing this letter to request reinstatement."
"I find myself praying to him not only more often now, but much more heartfelt than I knew was even possible a year or so ago."
This is actually true, but only bBecause I know the truth about the truth now.
"I feel from my heart that I have been forgiven by Jehovah."
The rest of it was just ego stroking and me gagging out the best drivel I could think of.

Thank you both for your input. Yes the holier-than-thou part will be removed but it sure felt good to type that haha.
I like your suggestions very much. I think you both knew exactly what I meant but are 100% right that it could be mis-interpreted (immagine a JW misinterpreting something). I'll reword that part for sure.
Any others?
