From the age of ca. 7 to the age of ca. 21, I joined about 10-12 quick builds in Norway. At first I was helping out in the kitchen, of course. My mom and dad signed up for the first quick build in Norway, and I thought I was lot of fun.
When I passed 16, and was old enough to be at the construction site, I worked with gardening, ceiling, inside walls, on the roof and many other things.
I got injured twice.
First time i scorched my hand on a 1000 W floodlight. Man, that was hot!
Second time i stepped on a rusty spike. I only wore my training shoes, so the spike left a nice small bloody hole on the sole of my foot.
But it all went well, I received excellent treatment at the first aid caravan both times. And best of all I got the rest of the day off.
Not to mention all the sympathy I got from everyone! Finally the attention I never got before nor after :-)
Anyway. I found the quick builds very funny, as it was the only "witnessing" that I was good at. I hated field service, but this physical work I could handle.
Did you join many quick builds? Did you get injured?

Either they are in total darkness.... or else the lights are on, but no one's home
lol
Acording to whyizit both the Insight books and the Revelation book were published in 1988.
Maybe they wrote the Sodom section in the Insight book some years earlier when the light was on, and forgot to turn it off again before publishing?
I'm thinking that it takes a long time to finish a work like the Insight books, and if they on top of that have to keep record of the lightbulb changing in other publications during the process...

Funny. That's a new one.
So what do we call this? It's not "new light/old light" or "flip-flopping".
(If I remember correctly, there has been some flip-flopping on whether or not the Sodom and Gomorra people will be resurrected or not, right?)
Can the light be on and off at the same time?

To be honest, I don't think that I have prayed to God since I left the cong.
Before I left, I would only pray before meals (but in the end I often forgot to do that as well), and sometimes before sleep.
And they were always routine prayers (thanks for the food, looking forward to the paradise, blabla) with almost no feelings attached.
I was never good at these things.

Interesting that they don't include percentage of increase/decrease here.
No wonder they won't. When checking out the links above:
Total increase of publishers 2005-2006: 1.92 %
Total increase of partakers worldwide 2005-2006: 2.74 %

Gesturing
by 38 Years inafter you quit, do any of you still have problems with excessive gesturing (the ministry school type).
when i was a kid, getting a "w" made me feel like a failure.
i was always getting a "w" for gesturing, so since i wanted to be "perfect", i decided to incorporate gestures into my everyday speaking.

I'm always gesturing when talking. And I always have been. It sometimes get out of hand, so to speak. I have even elbowed my husband in his belly while gesturing... But they are natural, spontaneous gestures.
But during ministry school talks, my gestures usually got stiff and feigned. Though I usually survived and got away with some waving, and never got a "W" (or "A" as it is called here).
I remember that you could almost always tell when listening to, and watching, the speakers (at least the sisters - the brothers usually got more public talk experience). I often whispered to the person sitting next to me:
I think sister "Waving" are working on the gestures to day... :-)
