I wanted to play football (soccer) or volleyball, but was not allowed to join the team (bad association, you know...)
That's my biggest issue.
Second biggest issue is that I never got to know really well the part of the family that is not JW. I'm trying to make up for it now.

Is There Something Specific That U Regret Not Doing Because You Were A JW?
by minimus indid you want to belong to a social club but couldn't because it was "worldly" and witnesses don't get involved with the world?.
did you not go to college simply because witnesses say it's bad?.
did you deprive your kids of things because you were a "good jw"?.

So, I was just glancing through, and something caught my mind:
Page 19, paragraph 13. A story from Norway (that's why it caught my mind). It says:Studying the Scriptures using the Bible Teach book can exert a strong influence on those desiring to do God's will. A special pioneer couple in Norway started a Bible study with a family from Zambia. The Zambian couple had three daughters and did not want another baby. So when the woman became pregnant, they decided in favor of an abortion. A few days before consulting with a doctor, they studied the chapter entitled "A Godly View of Life." The picture of an unborn child appearing in that chapter touched the couple so deeply that they decided against the abortion. They continued to make fine spiritual progress and named their newborn son after the study conductor.
I showed it to my husband, and both of us are certain that we have seen this exact story (down to the smallest detail in the last sentence) before somewhere, not very long ago. But we can't remember where it was.
Has anyone else seen it before?
And what is the Bible Teach book anyway?

Hehe. Found a funny KH picture from Sweden:
http://www.skrattnet.se/media/bild.php?sub=144&id=1582
Someone has changed the order of the letters in "Rikets Sal" to "Skitarsle" ("Skitarsle" in English is something like: "Sh*t ar$e")

Ahh that makes me sad. I see a bunch of nice kind hearted brothers happily being exploited.
On the other hand... I think they enjoy this a lot more than the FS and the meetings.
The only downside is that the sisters are not wearing as sexy outfit as they use to wear at the assemblys
Or... well, it depends on the weather, I guess

All KH in Norway look very much like this one (at least the quick builds, and the site says that this spesific hall was qb no. 87 in Norway).
Wooden houses -- with windows. I don't know of any hall that hasn't got windows. Maybe if the hall is part of a larger building (in town), but even then there usually are some small windows.

or '40s music..
I wonder how they looked upon 40s music in the 40s. 50s music in the 50s. 60s music in the 60s. Is Beatles ok now? I bet it was not ok back then...
Maybe Iron Maiden will be perfectly ok in 30 years or so?

Not to mention Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven"!
And all sort of rap music. In the 90s, there was a WT study article about music one should not listen to. Heavy and death metal where mentioned, of course. Along with rap music.
I remember an elderly brother in his 60s gave the comment about rap music, and pronounced "rap" as if it was a Norwegian word. And in Norwegian "rap" means "burp".
LOL. We teens who knew how to pronounce "rap" (the music) giggled as quiet as we could.
I don't think I tossed anything of mine. I don't think any other youth in my cong. did either. I do remember one brother saying "so, maybe I shouldn't listen to Iron Maiden anymore..."
