there have been a few posts lately on the board where people are giving their experiences in talking with jws they meet in day to day life.
this got me thinking of something i've never seen a post about on this board.
because of a number of different factors it seems that jws have a very unbalanced approach in the way they deal with criticism.
When the criticism is coming from a person outside of the group, the JW can sometimes show much more patience than they ever would with a fellow JW. Because they desire to give the best "witness" possible their guard is down.
That's what I call "recruitment mode". Where's the wisdom in 'wasting' your patience on someone who's already inside?
i bought 4 winter tires a week ago and put it on my credit card, and i know that my mom will buy me a christmas gift, so i told her how broke i was lately.....
Well my hubby is the absolute worst when it comes to taking hints! Since he buys me gifts year round, I usually tell him outright what I want. Christmas on the other hand, I leave the choice up to him.
my mom was telling me that we have to be especially on guard during these last days because satan the devil is setting his sights upon anyone he thinks he can get.
i mentioned to my mother that jws give too much credit to the devil.
i explained satan is supposed to be a single angel gone bad.

Getfor what exactly? To "serve" him by doing wrong or bad things? What could Satan ever get from the service of humans ... glory? Wouldn't it be worthless in the end since he'll be destroyed anyway? As was mentioned before, God isn't going to miss those destroyed.

my wife and i have been staying away from meetings for almost a year now and i was wondering what everyone thinks about taking the next step, which would be going to another kh out of the circuit the cong we went to is in and having the publisher cards sent there and then going for two or three times to the new cong and then just stop.
we are thinking that will give the elders an out because they can get rid of our inactive cards and the next cong won't know us that well so won't really care.. as a former elder and po, we are well known in the area we live so many in the area are wondering what's going on with us and if we go to another cong.
that might make them feel more settled.
That's what I did, only skipped to three different ones..."poof".

i have wanted to start this thread for sometime because i was curious if it has happened to any of you often.
in the last 10 years or so it seemed that deer were attracted to my trucks like magnets .
PS - I did hit a bird once, didn't tell hubby cause I was embarrassed. How the hell do you hit a bird
Don't feel embarrassed ... it CAN happen! I've personally witnessed it. The tragic incident reinforced why when someone calls you a "bird brain" it isn't a compliment.
