to those here that mad me feel welcome upon my recent return, i feel a bit like the prodigal son (poor analogy).. after making this my first board over a year ago, i have meandered the exdub cyber community and made many good friends as well as meeting some truly amazing people.
i feel i've established myself amongst the discussion boards and earned a reputation of sorts (hopefully positive).
i have always checked in here, tho sporatically, and recent board politics and accessability have led me back here.

i can't believe these cats would let anyone paint them!
they supposedly use non-toxic paint.... http://www.jibjab.com/jokebox/jokebox/jibjab/id/479094/jokeid/111715.

calm down.... don't worry... cat's can't read...
ummm, Tiger does.
interesting article that doesn't really explain why people are weird, but indicates that the "social" rules are different from real life.
what's interesting to me is how we justify behaving differently online.. .
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/822503.html.
I've read information that shows communication split as follows: 1/3 is what a person says (the words), 1/3 how it is said (voice tone) and 1/3 how a person appears while speaking (body language/facial expressions). So with electronic communication, it's easy to see why things may be misinterpreted since approximately 2/3 of the intended communication is missing.
I send out anywhere from 75-100 emails per day at work. Not all of them are worded correctly...gasp. Thankfully, co-workers call to clarify things before jumping to conclusions. I also work in an environment where immediate responses are necessary. So emailing starts at around 6a and ends around midnight on a good day.
On another note, It's unfortunate when people take advantage of the anonymity of the internet by being rude.

finally.... someone found a use for cats!
OMG!!! I'm so happy Tiger aka The Orange Guy was looking away from the monitor when that comment showed up!
well i have been living alone now for a week for the first time in about 6 years and apart from one or two minor episodes i am really really enjoying the freedom of it.
i feel like a weight has been lifted.
i feel free again - a tiny bit lonely at night - but mostly i think i've recaptured that long lost spring in my step.
I grew up an only child in a family which was less than ideal. It was very, very lonely. I have an amazing extended family, hundreds of members, who I love dearly. Only problem is, I'm the only one DFd, so again very lonely for the last 17 years. I'm very comfortable being alone and won't sit around at home waiting for someone to travel with, etc.
I've had great roommates over the years and currently live in a roommate situation with a gal who is 25. I don't have much in common with her since she is so young, but it's nice to hear someone else in the house. We have a housekeeper to keep everything tidy so no arguments over who did or didn't make a mess. I have guests over whenever or meet them in town. There are so many outdoor activities to do in my town, it's easy to be gone all day so I can go for days without seeing her. And, even better, I save over $1500 every month in housing expenses, which means more travelling!
I guess it's a case of the grass is always greener on the other side. I would love to have the significant other, kids, the kids' friends, the dog and cat running around making noise. As long as I can keep my wonderful housekeeper.

tomorrow i'm scheduled for knee surgery to repair my acl..
(((AS))), sweetie, I'll be sending lots of good vibes your way tomorrow! You are going to do great...
what do you find physically sexy or hot on a man?
i need this info for my wife's sake, as she doesn't think 6 pack abs are that sexy.. .
abr.
Nothing better than a confident man
Someone who I want to talk to for the rest of my life...laugh with...
Tall at least 6'
Attractive...I have an ideal, but a great personality overrules it.
Good table manners....okay this one might have to go to the top of the list. Bad table manners...my biggest pet peeve out of two.
i took these pics of the old mill last week........thought you might enjoy.......the old house is the house i lived in as a teenager and also was married in.
the old mill is only a few short blocks from this house.. http://www.northlittlerock.org/old_mill.html.

someone on another site was asking "what if they are right?
" which made me think about why i know that they are not and i wondered what was your epiphany or road to damascus moment or moments that just made you realise - hey i've been led up the garden path here!.
here was my response but i really think a list of reasons on one thread for easy reference for newbies would be good.
I had trouble believing most things, even when I was in grade school. But, I was threatened, ummm...lovingly pushed, to get baptized. Fortunately, I got to the point where I couldn't live the lie anymore...couldn't live a double life and left, no...lovingly DF'd. Then several months later I was at the library just browsing and came across a book about cults. Not sure why I took it off the shelf, but opened to the page that listed 10 characteristics of cults. hmmm....that's one of the many reasons.
