my grammy has just been put to rest, and already my parents and my s/i/l have said this to me.
they know i'm feeling sad, and missing my grammy, and they say, "she's going to be resurrected you know, be happy for her.

PS - Someone asked about having children in the New World. I remember my mom saying that we should be ready to raise children that are resurrected without their parents. Also, families who lost children would be reunited.

Breaking it to my grandparents
by AirDuster inso i've been deciding for the past year or so whether or not i want to stay in this religion, and i have decided that i do not.
i plan on telling my grandparents (whom i live with) this very soon, possibly tomorrow.
of course i can't be just like "i don't want to be a jehovah's witness anymore", but rather "i don't believe in this anymore, and here are the reasons why".

These major life decisions can sure be difficult. But, it does sound as if you are fairly set on letting your grandparents know your feelings. May I suggest that you wait until you are between semesters or quarters at school? I would hate to see your classes get sidelined right in the middle of a term if things don't go well.

Repulsed by the thought
by serendipity inyesterday, i was cleaning out the dark recesses of my purse and found the blood card.
i was going to throw it away but stopped.
after doing some research on blood in the bible, i no longer believe in the jw blood doctrine.

Why all the Athiest/Christian bashing?
by AK - Jeff ini know i am different than many, and though i accept christianity, i just don't understand the constant debate and haggle over the matter.
not a week goes by without one side starting a fight with the other, then the other retorts with it's position.
lots of wordsmiths appear and try to reason above the other persons head, and make naked accusations about an entire class of persons unknown.

Thanks for starting this post. I really enjoy this forum, reading the posts and learning other's beliefs. I'm guessing many here are for the first time thinking on their own and expressing their viewpoints publicly. Like many here, I was raised a JW. After being df'd, it took years to figure out how to be spiritual without being religious. Out of habit I went back to the JW viewpoints on many subjects. I read and asked a lot of questions of those I met.
There are certain things that I still don't have a personal answer for and maybe don't need one. But, where else could I go to get so many opinions at once? It has given me the opportunity to solidify some beliefs and rethink others. This has been a great experience and resource. Sure some posts need a sprinkling of sugar while reading them, but that's okay.
