Wish me luck... I gave up before for a year and a half... I really am at that stage where I *HATE* smoking but just keep doing it... will post my progress in the morning.

Good luck ballistic!!! You can do it!!!

With the aid of patches, and a lot of encouragement from Trev, I have managed 18 smoke free days so far.

I look forward to hearing your positive news.

I've been working on that myself. I have gotten down to going all day without one. I get to the evening and smoke about 2 and then refuse to take any with me to work the next day.

I know of one other person who did it this way... but putting yourself through widthdrawl every day seems like a living hell to me. I'd rather go cold turkey just once and that's it.

Yep, all medicines have different names in the UK, this is called Zyban here. I've been taking it two weeks. Unfortunately I was taking two together instead of one in the morning a one at night and it really did me in, I felt depressed and monged out (it said under no circumstances take two together on the instructions), but now I'm taking them correctly, they should give me that little extra help.

I'm in agreement with you there, ballistic. It's all or nothing for me, if I had one or two tomorrow, it would be more on thursday, and it wouldn't be long before I was a full time smoker again.
