We had a great time at karaoke but none of us sang, it was actually Saturday after dinner not New Year's Eve. My friend Tiffany rocked out "Bobby Mc Gee" and won 600 clams for first place. It was a good time for sure.

You didn't sing? That's the whole fun of karaoke. Well, that and making fun of others....

In October and November, I had the delightful pleasure of being a judge of a karaoke contest. The top prize was only five hundred bucks, but it was sooooooo much fun. A couple of my friends own the karaoke business and they are having another one in February. I kind of want to do it but I don't know if they'll ask me since I ended up being the Simon in the group. i wish i could not think its so wrong when everyone i know and love thinks its so right.. i'm so mad... i wish i could run to my husband and tell him how angry i am.

Moving into Chapter 4 and really looking forward to Chapter 5. I wonder what happens on the street without the hole.

You are amazing ((((((((((Tall Penguin)))))))))). That was so beautiful. I'm in chapter three. Or rather, just finishing it up. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing who's in chapter four.

I had a moment today that underscores what I'm talking about. My great-uncle (96 years old) fell down and broke his hip two days ago. So my aunt brought him to St. Mary's Hospital and on our way out of town today, my mom and I stopped in to see him.

After our visit, on the elevator ride down, I said hi to a lady in her mid to upper 50's. I then asked her, "How are you doing?"

She looked at me and a tear started running down her face. "I'm not doing good at all," she said.

I looked her in the eyes and let her feel that I cared. "Do you have anyone to talk to?" I asked her.

"Yes, I do." She nodded slightly, and stood up a little straighter.

I told her that I'd be thinking good thoughts about her, in cast that sort of stuff helps.

Now, that was just a tiny encounter and it might not seem like I did very much for her, but without spending a single penny, I let her know that someone she doesn't even know cares what happens to her.

Not only that, but I GOT to be on cloud nine the rest of the afternoon. Yeah, I'd rather err on the side of kindness any day.

What would you do if your bank locked its doors?

now that most of the major news sources are saying that the usa is already in a recession - will there be a run on the banks like there was in the uk in the fall?

i know that the government insists that will never happen because they insure your funds up to a specific amount but so far already two banks have reduced the amount of money that you can withdraw from your account.

they say its because of increased theft from their atm machines but who's really willing to buy that excuse?

I would laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and wonder what the people who were so heartless when my bank account was seized by the hospital I was sent to for recuperation after a nervous breakdown without health insurance were going to do for a job.....
