I must say that is a varied and rare set of skills. In my experience computer geeks are not people persons. Your being both is very unusual and your company should recognize that and reward your for it.
The tech lead told me that's the main reason they hired me. They need people they can send to the customer's house who can engage them and make them feel comfortable.
I get along with people very well in most situations and I have a natural affinity for computers so I'm confident I can excel in this job.
The only downside is that it's going to be part-time until they they've tested me out. I'm hoping that doesn't take too long.
