Yeah, I'm a better worker outside of the borg too. Inside, I was constantly worried about how stumbling someone or missing an opportunity to witness or letting down the big guy in some other major fashion that it was harder to concentrate on the job at hand.

What did you learn as a JW that helps you in your work today
by Lady Lee innote: if you are cautious about being outted then be very careful what you post.. the biggest thing i learned was sign language.
after i left i had a few jobs interpreting.. public speaking - didn't help me at all - that could be because speaking to someone else on the platform doesn't gives women an opportunity to address the audience.
i took a intro course in public speaking that was far better than 22 years of the ministry school.. i'm thinking .

To whom do you MOST feel the need to justify yourself?
by Abandoned inis it your parents?
your spouse?
a religious organization?

Stilla, primarily? Who is the secondary person you justify yourself then?
WT=watchtrouble: Nice name.
Black Sheep, why do they have to justify themselves to you if you don't have to justify yourself to them?
oompa, is that your choice or hers?
lfcviking, that makes sense.
If you cannot live up to your own standards how can you ever live up to somebody else's?
Elysian, good point.
And, against the oft-mentioned etymology, I have felt that a new sense of responsibility begins where the need to justify oneself ends.
Narkissos, excellent reasoning.
lonelysheep, ditto.

I'm waiting for my boys to (hopefully) crush Dallas. Yes, I know they lost to them twice already.
GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMHO, it's going to rely more on Dallas then on New York. I'm just waiting to see whether Barber has more of an influence on the 'Boys, or whether Romo does. If it's Barber, I think Dallas is going to win. If it's Romo, I think that The Giants will be heading to Green Bay.
I have to admit that I was upset when Parcells replaced Bledsoe with Romo and he did surprise me with the way he played the rest of that season, but then he choked in the playoffs. Sure Peyton did that for a couple years and overcame, but until Romo proves himself in that capacity, I have my doubts about whether he can step up and win in the big game.

JK, it's going to be interesting, that's for sure. Peyton has the talent and experience and teh Colts do have a lot better defense.
I'd like to see San Diego go all the way, they've fought hard this year, with having a new coach and all. They've had a lot of adjusting to do. My husband is a die hard fan, ( grew up in San Diego) and he's very happy with where they are, given the circumstances. Of course, he'd LOVE to see them in the Superbowl and win!!
San Diego is my second favorite team. The problem is that they have a very consistent habit of not showing up mentally for the big games. It's like they consider themselves to be locks and so they don't have to do the work. I would like to see them put that to a rest, but I don't see this being the year.

...now, how 'bout those Patriot's?......*runs for cover*....
This is one of the reasons I'd like to see Green Bay make it to the Superbowl. They are one of the few teams that I think can match up well with New England, and I don't see anyone else in the AFC making it.
To beat New England, you need both a team that can make the big plays, and methodically and patiently bring pressure on Tom Brady. Sure, Green Bay is overall, a rather young team, but Favre's leadership and confidence give it the stability of one much older. Plus, they are playing better now than they have all season.
I just don't see another team that can take on Brady and company and hope to win. Dallas doesn't have the leadership. Romo has a lot of skill and poise, but I can't see him being harassed by Seau, Harrison, and Bruschi and keeping his head.
San Diego has a lot of talent, but they suffer from the debilitating disease of freakoutitis. They've finally won their first post-season game since 1995, but I don't think they are mentally ready to take on the leagues best team in the AFC's biggest game. I don't think they're even going to make it past Indianapolis.
Indianapolis could do it. They need Marvin Harrison to stay healthy and they need Peyton Manning to play the full game. Peyton's awesome but he still gets freaked out when he feels overwhelmed. I thought winning a superbowl would have cured him of that.
So, I see a rematch of Superbowl XXXI, with the same excitement and the same results.

Hope for Alzheimers
by sammielee24 ininteresting article on a possible drug for dementia/alzheimers.
i think this is promising (fingers crossed) since a number of doctors have been investigating the link between inflammation and dementia.. dementia drug instant hit claim an excess of tumour necrosis factor-alpha may cause alzheimer'sus scientists claim a drug can reverse some of the early symptoms of alzheimer's disease - with the first effects seen within 10 minutes.. the journal of neuroinflammation reports how the memory of an 81-year-old man improved sharply after etanercept was injected into his spine.
but uk experts warned that a single success did not prove that the drug would work for every dementia patient.

If you dont want to get Alzhimers, dont sit around watching tv or go to the kingdumb hall.
User your brain. Do crossword puzzles, play an instrument. Do math problems. Write a book.
Use it or loose it.
While these are great things to do to stave off normal, old-age memory loss, they won't prevent Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.

This is my cat Merlyn. When I am upset, he sits beside me and reaches up with his foot and pulls my hand to him.
Awwww. When Gizmo sits on my lap, he pats my chin when I stop petting him to remind me that he needs attention.
