i think that the terrorists would have done better to fly those planes into wt branch offices.

there would be no need for the usa to go to war in iraq or afghanistan and they would have been hailed as heroes fo helping knock down an evil tower that casts a giant shadow of oppression, shame and fear.

maybe if any of the "goobering buddy" (ha i love that term) had survived the attacks they might have gone and molested osama and his little fruity indonesian pantyboys!

Let see if we can pick out which innocents deserved to die more than the ones that did.
There are many serving at Brooklyn who were just as gullible as you yet you wish them dead. I find this kind of discussion so unpallatable. 9-11 was a huge tragedy. To try and turn it into some sort of potential religious vendetta against the Borg is disgusting in my opinion.
Human life is human life. I understand the anger against the GB but wishing what is posted here upon other humans simply due to a misguided belief is just wrong.

Although I agree with you, we are wasting our time with these people. Not too long ago another thread similar to this one was open, saying the same exact disgusting thing. I commented that it is not good energy to be wishing another human being the type of death this people inflicted in the Twin Towers, and that, that only serves to prove them right about those who fade. It doesn't matter how much we have suffered, or how much we are against their teachings, it is not necessary to post such hate in here. Their minds are as criminal as these terrorist and just like they don't have an excuse for what they did, these members don't have a good excuse for expressing the same kind of hateful mind. Just don't pay attention to them and their threads.

a bethelite's viewpoint on the recent organization changesto me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.

it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.

It might have some truth to it because I just found out that a few elders from other congregations were reassigned to help in the congregation that came out of the one I used to attend. There was a removal of a few elders from their position. I don't know what happened but that's what I heard.

It made me laugh because one of the elders sent to help out is the same one that could give a sh** whether I went to the KH or not. "What a wonderful help that is". Bullsh**.

Names have been changed. Why?

the only time that the watchtower publication uses the real name of a person mentioned is when it's some biographical experience that is the entire article.

anytime a witness is quoted in an article or other publication, they always include a footnote.

I have to defend the Society on this one. There are a lot of people that will probably over praise this person if they actually know who they are; will see them as a celebrity sort of speak. I guess that is why they don't put the real name.

However, I will leave my two cents on this quote:

This is where I see how they turn things around to play with the r&f minds into not pursuing a College degree. They make it sound like everybody that studies a good paying career, does it with the purpose of gaining prestige and pursuing materialistic goals. NOT TRUE.

The second part highlighted in red, is not true either. Sure, doctors are not gods, but the rewards of saving at least one life, is worth it. Why would they put down this career, when there are many JW's that are doctors, in fact, those helping others with the blood issue? If it weren't for them, those who believe in blood transfusions being a sin, will be crazy looking for somebody that knows how to deal with these situations on blood.

In this case they use this experience to their advantage, to excuse their teachings on College, but when it comes to doctors that have become experts on bloodless surgeries, they praise them.

Who CONFIRMED the BIG announcement about the Book Study?

this seems to be the topic of the week, if not this year.. out of the many points and countless threads about this topic, many have been speculative and of the reminiscing sort.

i was wondering how many confirmations we have about this.

there were only a few that sounded like confirmations that i found posted on this site.

It is true, I have a friend who's husband is an elder, and she told me about the elimination of the Book Study meeting. I don't know if this a two part announcement but the Book Study part is confirmed.

Is the WT banning vasectomies?

i talked to a dub friend of mine who said they had a new "it's a personal choice, but jehovah will kill you if you do it" article about vasectomies.

basically, the reasoning is supposedly that since jehovah gave us our reproductive organs, tampering with them is wrong if not medically necessary.

You are still given the option to decide, but by the use of these words, how do you think one feels after reading all these negative adjectives and approach to your decision?

Then there's the "others" opinion. Nobody should care or feel that you are less spiritual than they are by choosing this methods of contraception. This is the problem, we can't think for ourselves. This bunch of dum dum's keep writing the Society for every decision the want to make, and whatever they say goes. That is why they take it upon themselves to decide over our lives what we should or shouldn' do. Aren't these people mature enough to decide for themselves using their own conscience.

Did you ever love Jehovah more than anything else?

Also, most of the things I did were out of fear of being destroyed and not going to Paradise. And still, to this date, I have the fear that it will still happen because I am not an active Witness anymore. I grew up in this Organization, and years of beliefs do not change quickly.

Good question because this is something I have been struggling with my whole life. At one point I think I did, but then I have never been completeley sure. I have always compare my service to other people's, and even to people of other denominations and I got to see that those outside the Org. showed more love towards God, than I ever did. They mention him all the time, they always say that "thanks to Him" they got to do this or that. I think a lot of people from other religions pray more than I ever did when I was active.

I do want to have a closer relationship with God, but I don't seem to be able to feel that way when I go to the KH. I think I want something out of the ordinary to be able to believe that he is there for anyone who needs it. Why "worldly' people seem to have their prayers ansered and sometimes we don't it is incomprehensible to me.

But good question.

i had no doubts at all about the 'truth' untill a friend of mine in the cong' began falling away.

in trying to help him i had to ask questions and do research and that of course cracked the doors of my mind open for the first time in over thirty years.. years ago, when jwd allowed members to have signatures, i used the following quote from voltaire as mine.

i still love it.. doubt is uncomfortable, certainty is ridiculous..

So Jesus is the mediator between the Spiritual Israel (those with a heavenly hope) and God and not the World and God.
Not according to:
John 1:29 John 3:16 John 3:17 John 4:42 John 6:33 John 6:51 John 8:12 and most importantly, John 12:47

These are all good scriptures. But let me tell you that if you point these to any JW, they will tell you that believing he is our Savior, has nothing to do with him being the mediator between God and us in the new covenant. These scriptures point out that he came to sacrifice his life for all mankind. Nowhere do they mention him being our mediator. I am not trying to argue your comment, I am just trying to make you see what their rebuttal will be if you were to try to prove it only with those Scriptures.

I am as confused as a lot of people about the belief that he is not our Mediator, only for the anointed, because that is why we pray in his name. And of course nowhere in the Bible have I read that some Organization is our mediator between us and Jesus then God.

That really made me think. But in your research, try and find other scriptures that will mention mediation between us, "the other sheep" and God.

Their was a question from readers in the 1989 Watchtower pages30-31 that stated that the bible holds out two hopes for humans. One to live in a paradise earth and the other to live in heaven. The article went on to say that Jesus was the mediator of only those with a heavenly hope.
In effect they are saying you cannot have a relationship with God or Jesus without them the faithful slave.

Like I just replied in another thread, I was born and raised in the "truth", so many things I never questioned, of course in 1979 I was just 12 years old, and, how much can a 12 year old understand about doctrine of such magnitude?. All my life I understood that Jesus was our mediator between us and Jehovah, and never thought anything different. All these articles just went pass by me, and I guess I never studied hard enough to become aware of these little details.

Now it got me thinking as well, another one for the basket.

I was raised in the truth and never questioned it. I did find some of the explanations about Daniel's prophecies such as the 2300 days somewhat arbitrary... But I accepted it all since we were in the truth....

The same thing happened to me. This is the only thing I knew. Like the israelites of Bible times, I was born & raised in it, and that is what it was expected of me. I didn't questioned anything, but some things were hard for me to understand. But because it was coming from God's Org., and the FDS, it was something you had to accept, because they "know" better and they have been anointed by HOLY SPIRIT.
