She should've just said: "Oh, I had a nice day off, thank you" or something like that. It sounded very self righteous. For the first time, I felt very good about not telling anybody I am part of them.

I went to the grocery store on Sunday and there was a lady in front of us paying for her purchase. I believe she was a Witness because the clerk asked if she had a good Thanksgiving and she said " Oh, I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but had a nice day off." I felt horrible for the clerk, she looked like, "Geez, what did I say". What is the point anyway? Why do they need to even say they don't celebrate the holiday? She could've just said, Oh I had a nice day off, and go about her business. Isn't that stupid though? I don't know if it's me, because I can care less, but even if I was a JW in good standing, I would've not said that. Some can be so duuuhhh. Now when people tell me, happy whatever, I say thank you, you too.
I just needed to tell somebody.

I am a much better person outside the organization. A.) I respect my mom way more than I did while in the org. B.) I'm more open and truly listen when people tell me what they believe. C.) I care about where I am and what I'll be doing in the next 5, 10 and 15 years. D.) I truly believe that one day I'll fall in love now that I have a bigger field to pick from it don't hurt that I'm bi. But on the outside it looks like I'm doing worst A.) I got a tattoo on my arm OMG B.) I join the military and became an offical human hunter lol. C.) I smoke cig. from time to time. D.) I curse and don't give a shit of what other people think. So are you a better person too.
I have become more open and listen to other people's beliefs without judging them. I respect why they believe the way they do, even if I don't believe the same.
I am taking better care of myself and enjoying the present. The future will come no matter what you do, whatever it brings. I've just decided to enjoy the present.
I used to smoke from time to time, but I stopped because I, me, myself, wanted to, not because I will be shunned or destroyed in Armageddon if somebody catches me doing it.
I curse, too. Not too much, just when I get very angry.

Jehovah's Witness elder gets three years for sexual exploitation
Betty Ann Adam, CanWest News Service
Published: Friday, November 09, 2007
SASKATOON -- A former Jehovah's Witness church elder has been sentenced to three years in prison for the sexual exploitation of a troubled teenage girl with whom he carried on a four-year relationship.
"Our courts must send a clear message to every person in authority over a child that sexual contact with them will not be tolerated and will result in lengthy periods of imprisonment," Justice Marty Popescul said Friday at the Saskatoon Court of Queen's Bench.
Wendell Willick, 47, was counselling the girl at the behest of her parents - who were friends of Willick through their church - during the period of the abuse, which began in 1996, when the girl was 14.

The court heard during a sentencing hearing that Willick first had sexual intercourse with the girl when she was visiting his home on a weekend pass from a hospital psychiatric ward.
The victim, whose name is protected by a publication ban, was in the midst of a troubled adolescence. She had once run away from home and had repeatedly cut herself.
Willick pleaded guilty in September to a charge of sexual exploitation.
The judge did not accept defence lawyer Daryl Labach's submission that the girl's apparent consent lessened the severity of the crime.
"As a society we have absolutely rejected the notion that children can properly consent to participation in sexual activity with adults or those who are in a position of trust or authority to them," Popescul said.
"An offence such as this does not require the use of threats or violence because of the power imbalance involved."
Willick's wife and adult children sat silently in the front row or the courtroom. The victim, who lives out of province, was not present. Her mother and stepfather sat in a back row. They declined to comment on the sentence.
The girl's trust and spiritual beliefs were shattered, she said in a victim impact statement that was read during the sentencing hearing.
"It made me feel like a person of no value with no voice. . . . Parts of myself are missing," she wrote.
Willick voluntarily gave up his role as an elder in the church several years ago, in part because of the allegations, and left the church entirely in 2004, the defence lawyer has said. He also has said Willick was not acting in his capacity as a church elder when the offences occurred.
Willick will be listed on the national sex offender registry for 10 years after he is released and must provide a DNA sample for the national data bank.
I don't understand. MY QUESTION IS: WAS HE AN ELDER or WASN'T HE? IF HE EVER WAS AN ELDER WAS HE BEFORE THIS HAPPEN, OR AFTER IT HAPPENED AND THEN RESIGNED?

I hate to admit it but I have been always inclined to dress up as a vampiress.
I think I have always have the inclination for the very dressed up and lot of make up type of girl. When in the Org. I always said that if they will give me a part on the convention dramas I wanted to be the one with the full make up, either cananites, egyptians, etc. So I'll probably dress up as an egyptian princess too.

Has anyone seen this video on JW Pedophilia that was on the news?

The temperature seems to be somewhere in the 40's. But what does the temperatures have to do with anything? Even though the video was posted August 07, that is not the actual time it appeared on the news, because they mention Bill Bowen being disfellowshipped in August, without mentioning the year, and Bill was df'd in 2002. This is an old report. Can anyone make out the tempature on the Lower Right screen? I am trying to figure out when this was aired? I like to watch this channel out of Dallas. I would have had a heart attack if I had been watching! It looks like it was posted to YouTube the end of Aug 07, but I can't make out the temp.
This is my reply, about 3 posts before. And I answer again. I gathered this from a letter Mr. Bowen wrote appealing to his df'ing in July 29, 2002. So it was sometime in 2002.

Jehovah's Witnesses Abuse Crisis in France! Posted by William Bowen Monday, 08 October 2007 A new documentary exposes how Jehovah’s Witness children in France are exposed to pedophiles by the worldwide policies of the religion. The program entitled, “Cults: Children Under Influence.” provides extensive proof of why the problem of abuse continues within the closed group.
Cults: Children Under Influence
The cameras penetrate the secrecy of many sects established in France . The authorities estimate that more than 8,000 children under the influence of these religious groups would be in danger. Despite the secrecy demanded by these organizations, the journalist Stephane Haussy was able to investigate many situations. He visited top officials among Jehovah's Witnesses.
Nearly 50,000 children are involved in the Jehovah's Witnesses, a community open to the world.
During our investigation, we also found cases of alleged pedophiles that have not been reported to the authorities and would be managed by committees of church elders that determine justice. Again, the victims, minors at the time, tell what they have suffered, but again, former leaders of Jehovah's Witnesses in France and the United States discuss how the hierarchy of the Jehovah's Witnesses would have required them to not to mention abuse cases. -

Ministry Clears Jehovah's WitnessesNew Times (Kigali)
NEWS

By James Buyinza
KigaliThe Ministry of Health has cleared Jehovah's witnesses of the earlier allegations that they rejected the ongoing anti-malaria spraying.
This was said in a meeting between top officials from Jehovah's witnesses, spraying teams and the Ministry earlier this week. Field reports recently quoted by the State Minister in-Charge of HIV/Aids and other infectious Diseases, Dr.Innocent Nyaruhirira, stated that Jehovah followers had claimed that the Indoor residual spraying (IRS) contradicts their faith doctrine.
New reports from the spraying teams say that Gelliadi witnesses (Temoins de Gelliadi), a religious sect was the one that openly rejected the spraying exercise but not Jehovah witnesses as earlier reported. Gelliadi is a sect that is said to have broken way from the Association des Eglise Pentecoste au Rwanda (ADEPR). The religion in question, does not participate in all government programs including communal work (umuganda), do not go for health services and for that matter discourage their followers from enrolling in health insurance, mutuelle du sante. Eric Kayoge Rutoni the Manager of operation, Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS), Gasabo District said they could not differentiate between Jehovah and Gelliadi since they are all witnesses, adding that the Gelliadi strongly resisted the spraying exercise. "We however later conducted a survey with the legal representatives of Jehovah in areas that were sprayed and found out that those who had rejected were not Jehovah's witnesses but another sect called Gelliadi," Kayoge said.
The areas where the spraying team faced strong resistance from the Gelliadi followers include Kibenga cell in Ndera Sector, Cyaruzinge Sector in Gashuri and Gatare, Gatsata, Muhima and Tetero.
The US government is funding a pilot spraying through the Presidential Malaria Control Initiative (PMI), in Gasabo, Nyarugenge and Kicukiro districts with the highest malaria prevalence and will next year extend to Kirehe District in Eastern Province and Nyanza District of the Southern Province respectively.

Where Do We Really Go When We Die ?
by flipper inoh, boy.
just had these thoughts rattling around in my head a few days, so wanted to get your takes.
my college son and i were talking and he said a fellow worker in his 50's said he had been aware his mother was sick and dying in another town , but had not died yet.

I will reply because I have the same question. Like many of you I have been in the Org. for many years and of course was taught that we are plainly dead, nothing stays alive. Well if that is the case my question is:
The resurrected will come back in a new body. If nothing survives after we die, how come the resurrected person will come back with a new body (when the old one could be recreated), but the personality, the memories, the love, (which are inanimated) etc. will be the same? That makes me question the fact that something does survive our physical bodies. God is capable of recreating our body exactly the same way doesn't he? Why create a new body? Where does he store our memories, our feelings, our personality if that ceases to exist after we die?
Our brain has the neurons and synapses and cells which control our lives . What we are is in and of our brain. There is no "spirit" that exists apart from our brain. If a person gets a brain injury or has Alzheimer's, he cannot function. If we had a soul or spirit apart from our body, why can't that "spirit' overcome those injuries and continue to be sentient? Or for that matter what need would a soul have for a phsyical brain if that brain were unnecessary for the soul's existence? (i.e. after death)
This has been on my mind for quite sometime now. I don't mean to sound disrespecful towards God by what I am going to say, but he has kept a lot of things from us. Adam & Eve were told by Satan that that was the case. They wouldn't be able to eat from the tree. God was testing them. After they passed the test, probably they would and be entitled to know more about Jehovah. The prophets wrote about things they didn't understand and never will. Jehovah kept secrets from them too. What makes you (all of us general) think that in the case of the dead, there are things that we don't know about, because it is not our business to know?
But it makes me think.
