3 stages
1) My brothers suicide in 1998, (drug addicted and mentally ill) where I was actually praised for shunning him in his hour of need.
2) 9/11/01, where I saw what Armageddon would look like, and got to actually question whether or not this was bat shit that Jehovah would destroy everyone for not believing like "us" at the Kingdom Hall.
3) Gilead, class 119, when we hit 2 Kings and to get the answers on the test right, we had to write that Elijah = Rutherford and Elisha = Knorr. That was the first time I said to myself, "This is crap, this isn't 'the truth'!"
What happened to my brother opened my heart for the first time. 9/11 opened my mind and caused me to start really thinking about what I was raised to believe.

from 1874 to 1914) in the year 1943.
(this appears to be based primarily on a statment in the book god's kingdom of a thousand years has approached on page 209 and to a lesser degree, a footnote at the bottom of page 133 of the publication jehovah's witnesses - proclaimers of god's kingdom.).

Hey folks. Just a thought or two. (as I offer to Leolaia my kudo's for offering her talent of presenting, then explaining the evidence)
DJeggwrong (might be spelling that wrong), could be a strong JW. Probably isn't. It's easy to doubt his motives, but we are all behind keyboards looking at type on a computer screen.
Before anyone has to feel the need to defend logic and truth about "da troof", just remember, most people who convert to JW's in the west are either incredibly naive (and thus unhelpable) or a little bit off. (making them equally unhelpable.)
My personal opinion is that DJeggwrong is here for himself or for the sadistic pleasure he get's for the upset he imagines he is causing.
So argue, because i get it. Can't let what 'he' says go. I get that very much. But realize, most people don't give a rats ass shit about JW's, and if DJeggwrong came to their door spouting this sewer type nonesense, they would slam the door in his face. He would feed off the persecution from the 15 mph breeze the slamming door would create. The door slammer himself would give a giggle, 5 seconds worth of thought on 'Boy, there are weird people in the world'. Then get on with their day.
This is a JW forum. So since JW's rarely talk to actual people anymore at the door, morons from the cult come to websites from time to time, getting their rocks off, not on being correct, (1914, really??) but on the argument and debate.
So say your peace, but remember. Jehovah's Witnesses still knock on people's door in this year of 2011 insisting that 1914 really meant something and that Jesus came invisibly.
....and stop giggling at the phrase that "Jesus came invisibly". Because DJeggwrong is coming invisibly too....

DJEggnog posts for himself. When you write that much, (and for those of us who know how to type, we all can fathom how long it takes) then you really might be counting time, or otherwise are just needing an emotional release.
Don Cameron's book is for JW's a devestating essay to the claim that JW's are the one true religion. The fact that 1) Not one thing they have prophesied has ever come true, and 2) At the moment, the best JW apologist of the moment is Eggnog says it all.
It is indisputeable that JW's got it wrong.

Did you learn nothing from JW's?? Natural is still better then artifical boobs. JW's are like Pam Anderson's boob's, they look great from 50 yards, but you have to commit to the skank to get a real good look, and when you do, they still won't let you touch them. Besides, there is way too much scarring from all the times the boob's changed. They were never real.

No. Despite all the claims of the assholes who cannot clearly understand my thoughts on this subject which I've articulated for years, I am NOT an atheist.
I am a Deist.
Farkel and Robdar and others.....
I am also a deist of sorts. While I want to believe god deals with some people, I can't make a single good argument other than I wish it were so.
I have enough life experience to realize that wanting and wishing something true doesn't matter a good damn bit.
I too believe that we were somehow created. But that's it.
I am much more interested in what makes a quality person tick, and how a quality person leads a quality life and how she/he can impact others in a quality way.
I am really into quality. ;)

What Is It That Really Troubles the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by orangefatcat inwell i think what worries them the most is that more and more witnesses are becoming free thinkers and that is troubling them, it worries them that thinking freely will cause them to seek answers elsewhere and that is the last thing the gb wants.
they have pulled the reins so tight now how much tighter can they pull before many witnesss crack under their yokes.
what is your thoughts on this matter.. .

Governing Body 2.1 (now that the generation who saw 1914 are all dead, they have moved up from 2.0)
What really troubles the GB is what troubles any elder who first realizes that they aren't running a religion, but a business.
As a new elder, you get this idea in your head that all you will do is read and study and quote scripture. After 1 year, you have called the CO and the Service Dept about as much as you consult the four Gospel accounts on anything. Your new job is to figure out if the 1978 WT on loose conduct can be used in the judicial committee about the poor sista who got her ta ta's touched by that 19 year old almost ministerial servanted brother.
As a new GB, you thought that you would help run a spiritual paradise. Instead, you have to deal with how not to get your ass sued off for the following.
- Breaking up families thanks to shunning.
- Having a database of over 20,000 known pedophiles (yup, you bet your sweet ass there are thousands of unknowns) and then having the schweaty BALLS to say that they won't cooperate with law enforcement as a matter of organizational policy. (but you can call in pedophiles to the police anonymously from a phone booth in a stunning act of courage rivaling David v Goliath)
- Having to explain to the hundreds and thousands who died because they wouldn't take blood medicine that they actually can partake of blood fraction medicine if their conscience allows.
They know. Really. They KNOW that the whole thing is a scam. That has to suck as much as being an elder and realizing that you aren't in a religion where you can positively make a difference for people, but in a cult, and that your first job isn't to shepherd the sheep. The first job of an appointed elder is to protect the GB and all their legal entities from lawsuits.
Oh, revenue's are sort of drying up. Sort of a bummer to have to sell billiions of dollars worth of property. Not to worry. Whether it's at Brooklyn, Patterson, or Numb Nuts NY, one thing the GB won't have to worry about is comfortable, paid for living quarters, and the power to control millions.
