I am having a bad day
by Vivamus init is wearing me down.. my constant companion in life, my skull-breaking- mind-blowing- daily migraines finally got the better off me six months ago.
i broke down, i cried and cried and cried.
not only cuz of the pain, but more for the fact that painkillers were not helping me anymore.

A Mormon dies and gets to heaven. St Peter greets him at the gates, explains to him the wonders of heaven, but then gives him some advice.
"You can go anywhere you want, just don't knock on door 589."
"OK," says the Mormon, and goes off to enjoy heaven.
Then a Baptist arrives, and St Peter greets him too. He gives him the layout, then the advice.
"Go where you want, but stay away from door 589." The Baptist, too, agrees.
The same thing happens all day with more Mormons, Baptists, Lutherans, Pentecostalists, etc. At the end of the day, they're all wondering why they have to stay away from door 589, so they go and see Peter.
"Hey Peter, why do we have to stay away from door 589?"
"Oh," Peter replies, "it's just that there are 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses in that room, and they think they're the only ones here." -

What Is The Jehovah's Witness Religion To You?
by minimus into me, the witness religion is either a hardcore group of watchtower dogma believing "kool-aid" drinkers or a group of non-believing, mentally and spiritually lazy zombies who value their friendships and family over principle.. there are those in the middle who i believe are too fragile to even want to think about reality..

I disagree with the first statement. I also imagine Minimus sat there, racking his brains for yet another topic...
My friends truly believed their faith was founded on the truths of the Bible and simply wanted to lead a better life for themselves and others. They love Jehovah, and worship him. They may be misled, they may be totally wrong. But it's not as easy to categorize them as you may think. -

WTS response to 9/11
by Robert7 ini'm sure this has been discussed in length, but i'm a newbie :).
one item that really shocked me, back when i believed this was 'the truth' was the lack of response to the 9/11 attacks.
as all of us, we were really shocked and really were looking for comfort at the meeting (school/service meeting).

Do you think that perhaps you notice it more because it's pertinent to you? I mean, I know the WTS is concerned primarily with how many Witnesses died, but what makes you think that 9/11 is so terrible?
They didn't talk much about the 250,000 killed by the tsunami of 2004 either. It's not that they won't talk about the Trade Centre, they generally have little feeling for world events in general unless they seem to back up prophecy. Jesus didn't talk about suicide bombers or tidal waves in the Sermon on the Mount, so they're not fussed.
Just realised: WTS stands for both the Watchtower Society and the World Trade Centre.
Eerie.

Abrahams wife Sarah was actually his half sister
by evergreen inreading through genesis has been an eyeopener for me.
i was surprised to read in chapter 20 that sarah was in fact abrahams half sister.
in verse 12 of this chapter, it mentions how abraham and sarah both had the same father, but different mothers.

I can't stand the bit in Genesis, around 18 or 19, where Lot's daughters sleep with him to get pregnant. Nobody could be that drunk.
I like babies too, but for God's sake...
What sort of God endorses that? That's like the justification for a pedophile.
The conflict of God goes on for me.. -

Which church?
by faundy ini don't feel comfortable living as an atheist.
i believe the world is far to complex and humans are too incredible to have just occurred.
therefore, if i was to attend a church, which one should i consider?

I agree. I was just wondering. I thought that if God really wanted me to find him, he would have made it clearer by now. Maybe by inspiring one of you to write something revealing and inspirational....
Never mind!
I mean, even Mouthy gets spiritual guidance from CABLE.
I may leave my search for another day...
