i see that some here were actually "in the closet" while they were witnesses.
some kids practiced "fornication" regularly but the only ones who knew anything about it were other youths that would never tell about the secrets.. some marriages were simply horrible.
but no one would've ever had a clue.. was there anything that you ever concealed from the elders or other witnesses that would've gotten you in trouble?.
I hid my screwed up sense of humor, and I hid my true feelings on the many different points that prove Jehovah's Witnesses to be just another organized religion ran by a group of men in New York.

Yes.
These are too funny. However, you have a couple of misspelled words: it's 'cut and dried (not dry)' and "mistakenly (not mistakingly)' ....
I'm not picking on you, but these will get very wide distribution and it seems a shame to have them discounted by viewers because of a couple of errors that you can easily fix.
willyloman,
I'm just having fun with this stuff. Don't be such a grammar nazi, bro.
dude, you're brilliant....keep 'em coming...!
what do you do for a living anyway??
Actually, I'm a radio host. I've got the afternoon drive spot every weekday. Then on weekends, I'm the lead singer in a house band in a big nightclub.
hello folks.
a loaded question for sure.
after being out of the org.
It will be a noble effort on your part, and I hate to be negative, but I'm afraid it won't do any good. Presenting logic to ones who are under the influence of mind control is one of the hardest tasks you could ever attempt, because common sense doesn't register with their highly indoctrinated brain. They believe with full confidence that the Watchtower Society only speaks truth, so any attempt of trying to explain reason to them is entirely frustrating.
In the book "Answering Jehovah's Witnesses", the author explains: "With JW's, however, there is much more at stake than wounded pride. They feel a strong obligation to bring you into "God's organization" and do not want to undermine their efforts by admitting uncertainty on their part. Even if you succeeded in introducing a few doubts into the JW's mind, but he has not rejected the Watchtower organization, he doesn't dare admit those doubts. It would spoil his efforts to convert you."
Witnesses will continually profess they are correct, regardless of pure logic, believing that they have the truth even if they have not done the research to prove it. That, in itself, is a defining factor of all cults. It does not really matter what the Bible says, they have the mind set that they are correct, regardless of sheer logic. But if you can plant just one wedge of doubt, the possibilities are endless.
the anti-school rhetoric was very strong, stronger than i've seen it in a decade.
one particularly galling interview took place with this 19-year-old girl who went against her parents' wishes for her to go to college, spurning the money that they'd saved for her out of their want--they were not a rich family but scrimped and saved enough to send their daughter to school anyways, obviously foregoing pleasures and comforts for her.
she "prayed to jehovah for a month.
stillajwexelder,
I gotcha. I was basing what I said on how it worked up until about 2004. Up until then, I worked in administration at district conventions, so I knew about manuscripts. So if they've moved away from doing that in the last couple of years, I wouldn't have known.
