Who is the next most powerful/dominant member of the GB after Jaracz?
by yaddayadda infor some reason there is a consensus on the board that teddy jaracz is currently the most dominant, powerful member of the gb.
i'm not quite sure where that view comes from, but assuming it is true, my question is: who will replace him when he finally dies?
jaracz is 82, recently had a heart attack, but evidently he is well again and still very energetic so he will probably be around for quite a few years yet.

It is implied among Bethelites that Sam Herd is the next-to-the-highest on the GB. He, like Jaracz, maintains hard-line, ultra-conservative views, and is the 2nd most assertive on the body.
As far as members "retiring", there have been several. Leo Greenlees and Ewart Chitty both "retired" from the GB. Many allege that it was for reasons of their homosexuality being discovered, but there seems to be nothing to substantiate that claim. Grant Suiter I think resigned because of health issues at one point, then later died in '83. There are several others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

I think you need to really think about the watchtoweresque way you post.
Perhaps he should start writing the "Questions From Readers"!

You all were supposed to be Armageddon babies! Fortunately for you, Jehovah saw fit to cancel his 1975 Armageddon reservation, even though He had already providentially revealed that date to his only chosen people on earth.

Another actual chat dialouge with my Witness friend...
by deaconbluez inif you guys remember some of the previous conversations i have posted between us, she is heavily indoctrinated with every facet of watchtower world.
lately, we've been talking about her serious relationship with a non-witness.
he tried studying, but just couldn't agree to go along with the wackiness.

If you guys remember some of the previous conversations I have posted between us, she is heavily indoctrinated with every facet of Watchtower World. Lately, we've been talking about her serious relationship with a non-Witness. He tried studying, but just couldn't agree to go along with the wackiness. So, this conversation picks up as we talk about their relationship in light of how Witnesses view dating non-Witnesses.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________I say:
with most witnesses, it is unthinkable to date somebody that's not a witnessShe says:
i knowI say:
so it actually does say a lot about youI say:
i don't mean that in a bad wayI say:
but for you, its no problemI say:
what would that say about someone if you were an observer? She says:
that they weren't strong in the truthI say:
yeahI say:
some would even say that you are breaking an outright scriptural commandment for Christians at 2 Corinthians 6, "do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers"She says:
and to marry only in the lordI say:
yepI say:
so, as of now, you are going against that Witness teachingShe says:
thanks, feel much betterI say:
notice how i didn't say you were going against the scriptural teaching, thoughI say:
because you're notShe says:
why notI say:
because your boyfriend "believes" in Jesus and that he died for us and by his death we have salvation, right? She says:
yeaI say:
that is the message of christianity...nothing elseI say:
therefore, he isn't an unbelieverShe says:
thats actually what i tell myself lolI say:
the Witness teaching is another manipulation of scripture that adds an organizational element to it, by implying that if the other person isn't a baptized, publisher-card on record member of Jehovah's Witnesses...then they are an unbelieverI say:
that doesn't make them an unbeliever in the sense that Paul was talking about...it makes them an unbeliever of the policies of a human organizationShe says:
thats how i feel about it actuallyI say:
check out this quoteI say:
"Beware of "organization." It is wholly unnecessary. The Bible rules will be the only rules you will need. Do not seek to bind others' consciences, and do not permit others to bind yours. Believe and obey so far as you can understand God's Word today."I say:
you know who said that? She says:
russel?I say:
yepShe says:
you told me that quote beforeI say:
and he would be disfellowshipped today if he were alive and publishing thatI say:
the Witnesses have done a complete 180 from that view that he held...and he was the chosen "faithful slave" at that timeShe says:
i gotta get ready for my meetingShe says:
thanks for the ... encouragement? i guess u can call it that lolI say:
just think outside of the organizational confinementsI say:
do yourself some goodI say:
reflect on john 14:16-17 tonight if you canShe says:
good scripture_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Maybe she is slowly coming to her senses. We can only hope.
