  i called an old witness friend who pretty much ignores the df rule yesterday.

  he sounded about the same as he did the last time i saw him 20 years ago.

  i asked about some of my old friends.

  Yeah, perspective is something that Witnesses fail to grasp.

  My family and friends from my hometown all play the shunning game with me, and the other day I was driving down the interstate and on the opposite lane there was a huge mult-car accident. Laying by an overturned Jeep was a dead woman covered in blood. (Reports confirmed later that she was one of the fatalities.) It made me think of how pathetic it is that any of us could be gone in an instant, and they choose to spend what little time we have together on this planet in such an abusive way. All I can feel is pity for them.

  hey guys, i've looked in the "best of" section and elsewhere, and i've found a few good ones, but i'm working on a project where i need quotes from literature where the gb/fds are said to be the "spokesman of god", "divine channel", and other things of that sort.

  any help would be most appreciated.

  I now have 24 pages of WT quotes where they refer to themselves as the "divine channel of spiritual truth". This will be invaluable in talking with Witnesses who chalk up all the proof of the WT being a false prophet as simply "imperfect men that made mistakes".

  I *think* it's considered offensive because it's food the slaves used to eat -- it was cheap and regarded as unfit for whites.

  I've never heard that. The only reason I alluded to it was because my black friends love it.

  You got it! I am very sorry for making the generalization that I made. I meant it as a joke. I am sorry for any pain that it caused.

  On the brighter side of things, I had 2 delivery men deliver some furniture to me earlier today, both of them African-American, and I gave them both a cold drink because I knew they were hot. Regardless of what generalization that some of you have made about people from Alabama, which is just as ignorant as making one about a race, I love my black neighbors and treat them as I would anybody else.
