  Service Dept VS Writing Dept

  i have seen it alluded to in various posts that there is a major rift between the service and writing departments at the world hq.

  for those of you in the know, please explain what is going on, who the players are, what turf are they battling over, who is winning, and the consequences of all of this.

  i am intrigued but i know nothing about it.

  at the annual meeting,,it was stated there were 70 checkpoints to publication,,legal dept no doubt involved,,and then all 8 GB have to vote to make sure the holy spirit was able to get at least 2/3 of them for a majority in agreement, so that service & writing mostly agree etc.,,no wonder they have had to dumb dow & simplify,otherwise,,nothing would get don.e

  they read a letter about the 2014 district conventions and how some would be international.. my thought was that this is a gimmick to get people excited.

  the organization has jumped the shark so they need.

  to use gimmicks to bring excitement.. the congregations were to pass a resolution to for $.15 per publisher for 17 months to go to a fund to bring the missionaries home,.

  not sure i've ever read any experiences from former missionaries here (but i'm sure there has been) .

  but it would be very interesting to know how you feel about it today.

  Hello Belbab,,your experience hit me so hard in the heart,,I never desired to go to Gilead ,,went to Bethel instead,, I knew a very memorable Gilead student gal. Maria (69-'70),, from Puerto Rico, sent to Ecuador ( I think) ..good as they come too,, she died in her assignment,, my heart sinks as she was so genuine, outstanding. But I know Knorr was cruel as they come in my opinion.. I know, I should get over it,, I have ,, my life so far removed now,, but I too,, in some unique aspects,, that are difficult to relate to, to this day.

  For in U.S., there are only 2 (50 hr) Aux. Pios per month per avg. cong. Worldwide, it's about 1.6 per cong. That group (50 hr) is decreasing.

  I had a couple months back then as the only reg. pio. so just my 'stats were on that chart part those couple months..ugh,, talking about intimidating,,if there was a "vacation pioneer" then our stats were combined on the chart,, Vacation Pios. had to get in 75 hours then. I reg. pio. 5 yrs.. ugh...

  Now-a-days, to see, in U.S., there is an average of 10+ reg. pios per cong. Of course, lowering their bar for requirements obviously will do that.

  Brothers spoke of his life after JW childhood

  i had conversation with mt brother who quit going to meetings ar age of 11. father unbeliver.

  this 60 year old grandfather said his childhood brainwashing has effected his entire life.

  had his first birthday party this year, armegeddon nightmares, and he just realized how screwed up his life has been because with all his rebellion he is still finding his thoughts affected bt wt teaching.

  My Mother Passed

  thank you for all of your support durning the two difficult weeks my mother was on her death bed.

  last night at 10:30pm she breath her last with my sister and i by her side.

  this is a real end of an era for me as i have known little these past 8 years other than taking care of my parents.

  Zone visit in France - April 21, 2013

  fyi, a zone visit is scheduled in france for sunday, april 21, 2013. .

  at bethel : only do, some co, a few bethelites and long time elders will be invited to attend.. in each kh : only elders, ms, and pionneers will have the priviledge to attend the direct live retransmission (each kh is used by several cong).

  the rf will have to wait for the mp3 file.... no hierarchy ?

  Makes me wonder if the Zone visit wll reinforce the R & F, that even though the WTS got back their $40M (of wrongful taxation) that they will still remind the R & F to give 'more' money/donation to the WTS anyway.

  I figured they would expand this. Aux. Pio, (50 hrs) are dropping numbers extremely. I expect it will become a year round availability soon. I don't expect reg. pio. hours to drop soon though as the reg. pios. numbers increasing as it is.
