According to Oct.1st 2012 WT Directions- Past Child Molesters CAN Be Appointed Elders
by flipper inconsidering the fact that the wt society refuses to release in courts any of it's written directions to elders through confidential letters to elder bodies- i thought i'd do the courts and wt society a "favor " by posting excerpts from this oct 1st.
2012 letter from the wt society to all bodies of elders.
these instructions are very exposing of the negligence of wt authorities in how they view the seriousness of felony child abuse.

It will take the government to deny the jw.org 'charity-free' status unless they change this insane 2-witness policy on this issue. The GB is too arrogant to submit to the government rulings. Lawyer, Irwin Zalkin, is pushing for Wt. Files exposure on pedophile cases. This issue will not stop. The GB have no heart for the children, only burdens them in every way. -

I quit the Theocratic Ministry School
by My Name is of No Consequence inafter almost 24 years in the school and doing it since i was nine years old, i officially resigned.
it has become increasingly difficult to prepare talks, especially with the new format for brothers.
i did not mind doing them; i actually put the time and effort into getting them out.

I think many have an appreciation of ministry school. Maybe it can seem that way for males, but not for females. The straight out talking to an audience was not the female experience. Also, for you males that have good audience speaking skills, I believe it is possibly your own personal inclination. You would have been inclined for such development thru school or college. Sorry, I can't give such talent for it to the limiting WTS. I give congrats to 'you' if you have gift/talent, not org. -

Please update me on these subjects
by NoGoodDeed ini'm sorry that i do not get the time to visit this site very often, but when i do i find it a bit exciting to see what has happened since my last visit.
this post is really about two subjects, but i think that they connect so i will only do one introduction.. child abuse:.
it's almost march and i have not heard whether candace conti or the watchtower won her case before the california state appeal supreme court.

Seems like Irwin Zalkin discovered an 'Achilles's heel' by calling a GB to Court. Such cowards. Here the GB require the JW children to not salute the flag every day at school, which is very difficult for the kids and the GB, have required thousands of young JW men to refuse drafting in military to point of having to go to prison. Yet, when called to Court, they refuse to show up. Cowards! They make their own suffer for their supposed 'truth' but they themselves hide in their 'ivory tower' compound.

Introducing myself
by maksutov inmy name is russ, i'm 40 years old, from the uk, and i left the jws nearly 5 years ago.
i've been a member of the yuku board throughout that time, so there are probably some on here who know me already.
there seems to be more activity over here at the moment, so i thought i'd pop in and say hi.i was raised as a jw, started questioning it when i was 16, but there was no internet back then (well, no www anyway) so i got sucked right in and got baptized when i was 18. auxiliary pioneered on and off for a couple of years, then became a ministerial servant.

I agree w/cha Ching. With your positive attitude on real life, your daughter now has a very good wide-open window for her. -

How many were baptized in your area, last assembly?
by brandnew inhow many were baptized in your area, last assembly?.

Seems like w/2014, 100-year anniversary plus dramatic international conventions, they used up their available youth in the push for baptisms. Less pickings for this year.
Seems they would in the future just have baptisms at the regionals, once a year. More dramatic for crowd. Seems that just a handful of baptisms would not be so impressive - especially when they're claiming the need to build thousands of KHs.

Wow! What an opportunity to get thru to one of the "Untouchable 7.". They are so protected away from reality of life, truth, and any who dare to give them honest comments. No , they are not just like us, not even like just a CEO. Don't trust their humor!! They manipulate with it. If he initially thought he was talking to a Bethelite, he would use his humor only to find out who it was, with purpose only to give him the " shaft.". (Of course, not much lower for a laundry-working bethelite to go since I guess they don't have the bindery anymore?). A respectful 'discussion?'. Hahaha, funny. That would not have lasted even that long as Cedar's call.
The way to an extremely arrogant man is to make a joke of him. They hate that! Drives them crazy!

All this new JW.org stuff is hurting my brain
by Nosferatu inso i just watched the singing cart video.
i literally cannot describe how i felt watching that.. growing up as a jw was serious business.
we had to take the preaching work seriously, watch our conduct, give a good witness by our actions, and be on our best behaviour to ensure we made it through the great tribulation.. when i was a child, i had dreams of being a cartoonist.

Wondering if these "Happy" you tube and happy singing literature carts songs will spark for some to request other happy songs like new Kingdom songs (existing songs sound like death marches). Their youth are desparate for some happiness. After all, most of their youth are leaving. The GB are going to have to get more creative. -

What I Saw & Heard in the Oral Argument Hearing on January 14, 2015
by ABibleStudent inim not an attorney and i could not record the hearing, so please forgive me if i make mistakes in relating what i remember of the oral argument hearing for jane doe (i.e., candace conti) versus the watchtower bible & tract society on january 14, 2015 and the length of this post.. i arrived at the civic center/union plaza in san francisco, ca about 7:30. the area is very nice with a few homeless people sleeping in the park across from the courthouse.
it took me about 10 minutes to find the clerks office for the court on the first floor, which opened at 8:00.. once the clerks office opened, the two clerks who i talked with were very polite and helpful.
the arguments for jane doe (i.e., candace conti) versus the watchtower bible & tract society were scheduled 5th out of (i think) 8. while i was in the office a cameraman and another person for nbc arrived asking about the hearing for candace contis case.. the courtroom for the 1st appellate court is on the 4th floor and takes up most of that floor.

Will it be possible for someone to get the CD and make a 'written' transcript of it and make the info available free that way? -

Conti Appeal Preview - Oral Argument Jan 14
by Chaserious inwith hopefully a good deal of interest here in the conti appeal tomorrow (or later today, depending on where you are), i thought that on my ride home from work tonight i'd preview what to expect and what i think the key issues are for any who are interested.
i have had a busy few weeks and haven't had time to read everything, but i had some time to look at the appeal briefs during my work commute the past couple days.
it'll be interesting to see what develops out of the network news coverage of this case.

Wilson Elser is a full-service law firm with over 750 attorneys in 26 offices throughout the United States.[2] Wilson Elser ranks among the top 100 law firms identified by The American Lawyer and is listed in the “Top 50” by The National Law Journal. With an office in London and a network of affiliate firms in France, Germany and Mexico, Wilson Elser provides legal advice and representation on a worldwide basis.
Just saw on the case docket this law firm ordered the CD of the Oral Arguments. A large firm and working on advice/representation "worldwide." I would guess there are many lawyers/firms watching this case.
I saw on Wiki the Catholic Church had at least 3,000 abuse lawsuits in U.S. alone. JWs may be only 1% or less of Catholics, that would be about an equivalent 30 lawsuits against WT. Surely, the WT has that at least, past and current, and expectedly more coming soon. Obviously, any JWs claiming they don't have this problem as bad as the Catholic Church are very wrong.
