  garnett, 31, has only been celebrating christmas since he entered the nba out of high school in 1995. he said he didn't celebrate the holiday before that because it was against his religion at that time (jehovah's witnesses).. "this is my 13th [christmas]," garnett said.

  "i tend to gravitate toward [the holiday more] than others, and i really appreciate the true meaning of it.".

  A gradual decline or sudden collapse for the WTS?

  many of us believe the days of the watchower society may be numbered.

  they are receiving an unprecedented amount of well deserved negative publicity.

  however, they are still experiencing modest growth.

  I can only hope for gradual decline,,hoping that people outside of WTdom would get more informed (via Internet) before going in JW world or that their youth would re-check/re-evaluate their upbringing somehow thru Internet or seeing their tiring parents & grandparents & would by their nature want a better life. Once people are 'in',,giving up the elitism of believing one has all the wisdom & righteousness of God after all their sacrifice is unthinkable. The GB have already shown their unwillingness to change even when one of them tried for reconsideration but then was booted.

  let me clarify that.

  with my active relatives i understand the brainwashing, because they continuously feed on the pap from the book publishing company.

  It baffles me too,,have a couple ex relatives,,immoral, & in prison for fraud (admitted), etc, etc and they still feel a righteousness in they never would celebrate Christmas nor ever speak against the JWdom 'truth' but can't live the real truth of life and real responsbilities.

  Young Couples and not having kids

  there are so many young couples in the org.

  locally that i have noticed do not want to have kids until the "new order".

  that's so freakin annoying that i feel like going up to all of them and smacking them upside the head and lettiing them know the whole truth about the "truth".

  Nowadays many people (not JWs) don't want children, at least when they're younger, or some ever. Some JW couples may just get some type of understanding/acceptance if they say they are waiting on the new system' when they more honestly just don't want kids. Most may change their minds when the 'biological clock' starts ticking. If people just don't want kids then they shouldn't have them.

  The one with the sign, I think was the Squibb building that the WT bought in the early 70's. That was a big deal back then. I was at Bethel then & purchasing that was one of the things that made me go "hmmmm", maybe the end isn't so soon afterall.
