Enjoyed the 'conference call' organized by Fearon that has the '6 Screens' xJW site. He had on Michael Coxe who had been a JW but recently left, he is a motivator for positive thinking issues and now is wanting to be of help for xJWs (for free on his free time) to be able to move on in a positive mode for their life beyond JWdom. Fearon didn't know how many were conferenced in on the call. In two weeks he will be having Brenda Lee on for another conference call. One man claiming to be a ministerial servant (about early 30s or so) did call in, claiming to be a JW & partaker, he was vague in his comments about where he was with the organization,,he express concerned that the organization speaks of Jesus more at the angel level and couple other points but he still thought the organization was okay though not perfect, like any other religion. ??? The comments there encouraged people toward the Christian faith. I don't know how many JWs conferenced in, if any others, I think it would be unlikely many JWs would comment there but like here could have been some lurkers. Also on was Dr. Bob. I respect Fearon for all the avenues he has, xJW site having 500-1000 hits a day, with much increase the last 3 mos on his site, U-Tube, and now this conference call avenue. A couple times he said there is indication of a 'mass exodus' from the organization. I would love for the that to be but I don't know.

It seems thru different threads I only read about Losch, not from the other 8 (well, some from Jaracz, who I read is the hard-nose), is Losch becoming their leader?

Bye-Bye Brooklyn....were OUTTA there! Real Estate news.
by oompa ini was told today by a heavyweight elders wife, both of whom were at bethel for many years and are very well connected to the brooklyn brass, that all brooklyn bethel operations will be moved to wallkill and patterson.
in fact, there is a very exclusive walk-through next week for some of the top real estate investors/developers who will see all the properties, starting with the sands, and its lobby has now been remodeled to look just like a high-end hotel..................just fyi.................................oompa

So which WT compound (between Wallkill and Patterson) is bigger and would be considered the "headquarters?" I read from another thread that the older ones at Brooklyn Bethel don't want to leave the "most holy" Brooklyn headquarters. ?

LDS-New leader invites all former members to return to the fold.
by Thechickennest ini read on aol today that the morman church is inviting former members to return to the church.
food for thought....would former jehovah's witnesses return to the organization if the invintation would be extended from the society?
would you go back if being disfellowshipped or disassociated was not an issue any longer?

The Mormons allow for "jack" Mormons. They don't have to go back and be shunned at their church. They have a more acceptance attitude. JWs require 100%+ or they are 'marked' or something.

Bottom Line: What's Going To Happen To The Jehovah's Witness Religion?
by minimus inis it going to become mainstream?.
will it become more cultish?.
will it splinter off and re-create itself?.

It will gradually decrease with mostly aging members. Knowledge inclined people won't be drawn to it as they will investigate since so much information is out there and so many ex-members more vocal now.

JW membership turnover - a real-life study
by besty inmuch has been commented here on how jw's rely on an ever-changing membership for keeping their 'the sky is falling, the world is ending' doctrine fresh.. recently it was posted that fully 2/3 of born-in jw's leave at some point, and i thought you might like to see how this works in practice.. so lets take sam and i and our extended families - we were both born and brought up jw's.
start with me.
mum and dad were converted in the 1950's.

My folks became JWs in the 50s, had 5 children, grew up, 4 of 5 pioneered & went also to Bethel. In time we married (4 of 5 married JWs and 1 married a non believer), altogether we have had 15 children. We all left JWdom. All 15 kids are all baggage-free of JWdom with some having only some memories of JW life when very young. We have still some extended family members JWs, 1 line into their 5th generation now.

It's only selfishness and/or mental illness to prevent your child from advancing or excelling. Their children suffer the most. I hope it's true that 8 out of 10 JW children leave that damaging cult.

slower to chase down those that disagree?
by IMustBreakAway inperhaps this is a local phenomenon.
but it seems the elders are slower to chase down those that disagree, or have faded in the past few years.
i have heard (and seen) in the past where someone even remotely outspoken about disagreeing with the watchtower or some such would get the fury of divine retribution brought down upon them in an instant.

Most of the 'eldership' are aging, tiring, etc. The worst thing for a cult it has been said (besides the Internet) is time.

How many exjw's do you think there are out there now?
by Velvetann ini am not sure if anyone has asked this before but i am curious.
does anyone know approximately how many of us have left the watchtower society in the past 20 years.
it seems to me that it is compounding monthly lately.

We're the tip of the iceberg of xJWs here,,majority have gone on with their lives and would not be interested or feel no personal need to come on this site. I've gone on with my life but I like to hear all the news and feel a need for the public to be more informed of the inside destructive spirit within and the negative impact to their own people.
