  So Splane mentions 141,931 peak pubs. for the "British field." Since this was a "Zone" visit, does that include Ireland now? and what other countries or islands would be in this "British field?"

  2012 Service Report shows for Peak Pubs. Britain (135,654) and Ireland (6,085). Thus, combined total is 141,739 peak pubs. for those '2' countries.

  I know these "Zone" stats get skewed, as numbers put countries and islands 'combined' for these reports. But their tallys for their individual countries are separate on the Annual Service Report.

  Also, Splane is really pouring it on for the poor JWs kids. The WTS is getting desperate for them. The WTS uses a story of someone, some Bethelite, leaving Bethel, doing better than a college grad, to set up a very rare hapstance to unlikely; or some little 12 yr old that brought teachers and fellow students into the "truth". Ugh. What pressure the org puts on these poor kids!

  That's so true, it is so 'contradictory' in undergoing these actually unnecessary things when they boast about the end so "soon" and then they are suppose to have 'perfect' bodies. And then, they fight against blood transfusions for themselves when they need it.

  suffolk police say the couple found dead in their nansemond river drive home wednesday were victims of a murder-suicide.. they have been identified as lucy celenia perry, 67, and her husband dennis joseph perry, 64.. autopsies showed dennis perry shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, city spokeswoman diana klink said in a press release.

  So sad for certain. Guess the WT "soon" just wasn't working for them anymore in their plight/reality. In the article, there was no word of children or family.

  The exJWs are very proactive in Denmark and Norway. Such laws are more advanced in these countries than in U.S.

  jw leaks has published the written submission, and annexures, made by watchtower bible and tract society of australia to the "inquiry into the handling of child abuse by religious and other organisations" and dated april 9, 2013.. included is a copy of the october 1, 2012 body of elders letter on the handling of child abuse.

  this places the letter into public domain and now means it can be shared internationally.. .

  page 3 of the watchtower's main submission (april 9, 2013) states the following:.

  it would be nice if this little nougat of information could be more widely known - especially by journalists.. the quoted figures for scientology are taken from tony ortega's 2011 article in the village voice, which quotes former scientology pr executive jeff hawkins as saying.... "i know that event attendance internationally was somewhere in the region of 25,000 to 35,000. the international 'bodies in the shop' (people actually in the orgs that week for service) was 16,000 to 18,000. ias was struggling to get 40,000 members.

  based on this and a lot of other information i was privy to, i estimate the actual number of scientologists at a maximum of 40,000. that's on the high side.".

  portugal is one of 33 countries with more than 40,000 active jehovah's witnesses - demonstrating the gulf in size between the two faiths.. the following list shows all countries with more than 40,000 jws according to their reported peak publishers for 2013.. .

  WTS counts a lot of the children (15% ???, what would you say?), not baptized, but as publishers. And how these children pay a burdensome price! Throughout their youth, they give forced labor, of door to door, unrealistic meetings for children, horrible persecution complexes in school, abusive guilt complexes, and denial of normal children's interests.

  Why do all the COs have food intolerances/allergies/special dietary requirments?

  it's a well known phenomenon i've observed from jwn, my own cos. a new co we had once who was fresh from being a normal elder and after a couple of visits he said, "well i've finally become a true co...i now have food intolerances.".

  i mean, only once did my husband and i ever have a co around for dinner and they couldn't eat this, he couldn't eat that, she couldn't eat this...it was so hard to cook something with none of the zillions of things they were 'allergic' to.. and then after all that the wife couldn't come anyway because she had a naturopath appointment or something.. why do all co's seem to have weird dietary problems?.

  In fairness, circuit work is such an unnatural life (in addition to the whole JW life), moving every week, every week in a different home. I sensed most CO wives were not happy, I can't blame them. I believe a woman 'needs' her own home and kitchen, even if a small nest. For awhile some were getting their own trailers (late '70s ?) but I heard by mid-'80s that was being discouraged.

  Anyway, I never heard a JW youth, wanting to grow up and be a CO or CO wife.

  Hi everyone !!!

  i am durden.. a teenager that is an unbaptized publisher and is trying to leave this damn cult !!!.

  i have been lurking here for some time and i decided to start posting with this intro.. im from europe, both my parents are jw's, my parents are both teachers (math teachers).. my parents are "softcore" jw's, they accept all my questions and try to answer them.. i am trying to "convert" my dad (an elder which might complicate things), me and my dad recently had various discussions about the org ("discussions" on the good sense of the word).. we talked about jehovah in the nt, 1975, 1914, gb in 1st century, the cross, "new lights" ..., you know the usual stuff.. and all is going well i think, i think i can "convert" him until the end of summer.. i mean is a logical man, what can go wrong ?

  man, when i found jwfacts it was like my world had collapsed, all thoses lies .... but its good now to have found the truth.

  wow, Durden, so wonderful that you have learned so much about JWism, the "facts."

  Good that you have some communication open on this with your dad. How long have they been JWs? They have no other family/relatives that are JWs.

  Do everything for preparation for college. I don't see how your parents would deny you that.

  Zealous Witnesses who never had children and regret it now.

  i had two close friends in the org.

  one is in her early thirties and got married last year and the other one is single and in her late twenties.

  after reading coc, i couldn't help but feel sad at how ray and his wife felt regret at putting the religion first and not having any children.

  I suspect it's more the husbands not wanting children anyway by their own personal nature, but they hide behind that to come off as very "spiritual" and sacrificing, till after Armageddon. Though some wives are that way also, many of the wives are put off to wait also.

  Too, if they are already in full-time work of special pioneers, Bethelites, missionaries, CO, or DO, they would have to leave and get a real job to support their family.

  Unfortunately, many would see "parenthood" as a demotion in their 'position' of their world/life.
