by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.
$4k/day to penalize the JWorg for documents is like penalizing a willful lawbreaker 'individual' only $4/day. Not much bite.
according to our sources, germany bethel will take in charge all treasuries for all europe starting sept 1st.. each bethel will deliver the funds as a donation to german legal entity.. gold ages for ibsa and other entities in eu are over :).
Seems if the WT can find a 'printing' source that works cheaper for them, then I think eventually they may find a cheaper or comparable 'shipping' source to be better or cheaper overall. Actually, the WT could just tell the congs. to pay for the shipping directly themselves. That would be fair and congs. would/should be watchful of not just throwing away paper.
Then, since any remaining Bethelites are being told to cook their own meals and do their own cleaning and laundry, that leaves just the need for the service dept (supervisory)., writing, and Legal Dept. oh yeah, and tv (& cartoon) dept. Of course, there will still be the demand for donations as much as ever.

Sad, you sound like a such good guy. I hope you can move on. Unless, you don't mind dealing with a type of "dual personality." Sad, for her too, as single JW females definitely out-number single JW males, especially, after about 30 years old. Then, the older single JW males often pick the much younger females there.

Are you in just your last year of school? Can you absorb yourself in books and your artwork; things as stepping stones for a plan to college or university? Do you go to public school? Best to wait another year? A lot to plan. Perhaps your aunt could help you plan, but don't rush out. This next year will go faster if you have a plan. So many best wishes to you!

i spoke with a bethelite (non-us) last week who says that a 20-25% downsize is coming at their bethel in the fall of 2016. this is in addition to the cutbacks of 2015. more will be sent out 'to the field'..
I would expect the branches (approx. 22) in Africa will get hit the most, the soonest. They just won't have the money for support from the Headquarters. They won't have the priority. Will be very heartbreaking for them. Most African branches are just RTOs, some also with Shipping. Maybe only two Branches do printing, South Africa and Nigeria?
