  My Mom passed away today.

  after a lenthy illness, 10 years in total, my mother, margaret stecko, passed away peacefully today surrounded by family.

  she was 84, and leaves behind 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

  she was a jw but never shunned me.

  two brothers were always getting into trouble in their neighborhood.

  the people in the neighborhood started complaining to the parents about the boys.

  so the boys parents decided to have their priest talk to the boys.

  just a little breaking news:.

  after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.

  last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..

  JWs in Field Service Today--Christmas.

  i guess the local kh is doing a special field service outing today, which my wife will be a part of...on christmas morning.

  i think this is intrusive and disrespectful.. did any of you do fs on christmas?.

  is this a common thing among jws?

  I never did. But I remember once the CO came the week after christmas and said how great the cong the week before had been and that most of the went out on hristmas day and that we had to compete with then for new year's day. Of course the cong had to do better. I always thought it was ridiculous but what can you do.
