think about it---witnesses proclaim that their identifying mark is love.
they are the "most loving organization in the world".
they personify christ and are the only "true christians".
The reality is that JWs ENCOURAGE their members to shun anyone that left the Organization and decide to think differently.
The Watchtower is actually training its members to be judgemental when it instucts them to behave in this way

For me it was easy. I just slowed down in my JW activities & faded away and after a while just didn't bother with it anymore. Of course i avoided answering the door when i suspected the odd elder came round to visit & sheperd me back in.
Of course this could well change if i ever get DF'd or DA'd, things could be much different then.

as other posters have mentioned , i feel , too , that this is something that needs to be kept in the forefront of practicing jehovah's witnesses minds , as they will never hear about these settlements from their elders or governing body.
so , you folks know me well enough that i don't have a shy bone in my body , and if i see an opportunity i will take it.

I agree with this statement from the elder, but its how the religious organisation deals with it that matters. For instance trying to cover up allegations & failing to report them to the police when there is a strong claim by the victim. Out of court settlements & gag orders on the victims just to try and keep the matter quiet and preserve the image of the organisation. No these are not acceptable ways of dealing with this matter of child abuse.
I remember seeing a TV documentary once (called Panorama) about JW pedophiles, all the accusations, the victims, the congregations and the guilty parties were all named. The next day at the KH there was no mention of the content of the TV programme the night before, there was no explanation for the bad way the Org dealt with these cases, no apology to the victims families or the rest of the JW members, no admission of guilt, not anything of a humble nature at all. I felt i as an active & loyal member of the organisation deserved some sort of explanation for what i saw on that programme, but of course like everybody else got nothing.

witnesses are known to go into wealthy neighborhoods and while riding around in service or actually going to someone's house, they declare that "these people already have their own paradise but as soon as armageddon comes, i'm gonna take this house and when they die, it's gonna be my mansion!.
Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses actually look forward to billions of persons dying so they can occupy their homes.....Nice, huh?
Yes i agree that there seems to be a feeling of total disdain for 'Worldly' people from a lot of JW's to this extent of just wanting rid of them at Armaggeddon so they can obtain their possesions.

i've heard this been said before that when you have had loads to drink and when your inhibitions are temporarily removed then the real you is exposed.
i.e:.
some people when they've got a skinfull they might start talking about money & bragg about personal financial achievements and how much more money they're going to earn.. some people after a few beers suddenly think they're rocky balboa and think they can take the world on.. others after sinking some g & t's might turn into a crazed sexual tyrannosaurus!!.

We all know that Col. 1:15-19 has added the word [other] in brackets and it really changes the meaning of the verse and is not necessary for gramatical reasons.
I've seen this brought to light on a website called "Thesixscreensofthewatchtower". It makes the point that because this word "other" is inserted 4 times into the verses in the NWT it suggests that Jesus was created by Jehovah and then Jesus was used by Jehovah to create other things. I.e the NWT has deliberately altered it to support their theories.

According to the above link (which was posted by AK- Jeff in an earlier thread) which takes you to a youtube video clip, the ex JW lady in that interview makes that statement.
Is this really the criteria you have to satisfy to become a member of the GB?

my mom went to the doctor last week and while she was waiting to be seen she noticed that awake magazines were all over the lobby.
there wasnt any other magazines to be read.
she happened to look in a trash can and noticed that it was full of "worldly" magazines.
Mom promptly removed the magazines from the trash can and gathered up all of the Awakes and threw them in the can.
